I really enjoyed this place under the prior ownership and can safely say the new owners have done a great job! The interior and table setting redesign came out beautifully. Service was excellent. Our waitress was warm and attentive and the food came out at the perfect pace. The menu has been revamped in a way that will satisfy old patrons with all the staples while adding new value to those families with younger children. If you’ve been waiting to check this place out, don’t hesitate.

I’ve been here twice in the past five days, that’s how good the food is. The new owner hasn’t missed a single detail, from the beautifully updated decor to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Every staff member has been friendly and attentive, and the service both visits was excellent. I’m already planning to bring my adult son back on Friday. Rancho Santa Fe was overdue for a fresh, elevated dining spot, and Paseo delivers. The owner’s genuine warmth makes you feel like a regular from the moment you walk in. Highly recommend.

Tried this convenient location based on reviewing the very comfortable varied food menu. We tried a variety starters and entrees. Service was efficient albeit still relatively new to the menu. The 6 of us enjoyed our meals. Would have liked to see a more varied desert menu, but understand that is being reviewed. Will definitely return.

Karen, our server, had the perfect combination of competence and personality. The food was delightful although we only ordered from the appetizer list in a “create-your-own-tapas” kind of way. I don’t live locally, but I did see store clerks and hotel staff I’d met around town sitting at the bar, and I always feel that if the locals enjoy a place, I can trust the food and service. This place did not disappoint! I do wish the dinner/entree menu was a bit more enticing or adventurous, but the apps were absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend, and ask for Karen!

The food is excellent here. If you’re with kids, order for them as soon as you arrive and they’ll accommodate you. This is a great place if you’re relaxed and have plenty of time, don’t go if you’re in a hurry as they get busy and overwhelmed. Go and soak up the atmosphere, be patient and the food is really delicious

The atmosphere is great on the patio, but the quality of food given the prices was not good. The spicy vodka pasta tasted like a plain tomato pasta that could be on a kids menu and our steak was just ok with a very sad presentation. Was a bit confused by this place honestly

We have been to the Bistro many times with our good friends, this visit was the first with new owners (now called Paseo’s), currently outdoor dining only as they remodel the indoor area. Service was slow but the food was delicious when it arrived. They should remove the outdoor TV as it deters from the dining experience!

We were so excited to try this place for the first time.
We were pretty hungry, so we ordered straight away and unfortunately, the food did not arrive for almost an hour. There was no explanation from the wait staff who seemed clueless that this could possibly be a problem.
We ordered a hamburger and the New York steak. The hamburger was actually pretty good, but unfortunately it came out and both the burger and the fries were cold. The New York steak also was temperature challenged – barely warm and was smaller than the 14 ounce mentioned on the menu. It was probably less than an inch thick. The presentation was anemic. The steak was sitting on top of a bit of mashed potatoes drenched in a brown peppercorn sauce. No other garnish or vegetables on the plate.
When I asked for a side of mustard after the burger was delivered, it did not arrive for another 10 minutes and by then I was almost finished with the burger. Again, no clue from the wait staff that this could be a problem.
Honestly, at this price point, we should’ve gone across the street to Mille Fleurs and paid about the same for excellent food and service.

What a beautiful restaurant with great food & service in RSF. The outside courtyard is lovely & the inside is fabulous. The restaurant has a great vibe.

Excellent service and ambiance with great front patio al fresco seating. The lamb chop lollipops were an excellent appetizer, and the fresh wild salmon was outstanding. Love the upgrades and the energy of the service team.
