Reviews
I was with a native Filipino who said the plates we ordered are almost identical to the homeland.
This restaurant also has a separate section, which was sold out, where a live band plays. The band was energetic playing 90’s and 2000 music. Unfortunately, there were no tables available. I would recommend having dinner in the dance hall. I enjoyed the service, although a bit slow on the drinks, but prompt in serving the food. I would definitely return and stay for the live music!
Sisig order was forgotten so we had to remind server… it was good but portion was really small.
The servers were nice and attentive.
We’ll come back if in the area.
Isla is pretty big. There’s lots of seating and there’s different sections in the restaurant. There is a separate spot where entertainment happens with live bands and karaoke.
Food: It is good but it does not quite hit the aaaaamazing level. For our first visit we ordered the following:
Sisig pork and bangus, Litchun Kawali, Lumpia Shanghai, Calamari (free item), Kare Kare Seafood, and Sinigang Baka (beef). We also received a free Halo-Halo because it was someone’s birthday in our group.
The Kare Kare seafood was actually not too bad. I was skeptical but the seafood actually went well with the peanut sauce. We weren’t really a fan of their version of Sinigang. Also, the calamari looked pale, was chewy, and not crispy. Everything else was on point especially the Sisigs which was the best thing we ordered that night. I am not sure if the halo-halo we got is the way they usually make it, but it was really plain. (See picture). Food presentation needs improvement.
Service: was ok. The Kuya’s that helped us were nice enough but they rarely came back to our table to check on us. We had to call on them a couple of times.
But I did like that they mentioned we earned a free item since we ordered a certain amount of food. And something free for the birthday celebrant. Hoping next visit will be better.
It went down on the way they serve food, they are very quick that I assumed that food that are famous for customers get to be prepared ahead like pork sisis and crispy pata. We ordered, crispy pata, pork sisig, pancit, nilagang brisket, pakbet, grilles liempo, grilled squid and fried tofu as appetizer.
Crispy pata came out really quick and sisig with rice and there’s a like 10 minutes or so before they serve the rest of our food and our appetizer came in the middle of our meal when it’s supposed to be at the beginning.
After serving our food, our waiter never came back to check on us, I had to refill our water from their soda machine myself because you can’t find any waiter close to our table. Their servers are everywhere they got no assigned section. After finishing our meal no one ever came up if we are ready to pay, we had to ask their staff who is cleaning tables to get our check and finally someone took our money and asked if we need to-go containers but also, that person never came back and we had to ask another person to bring us to-go containers.
The interior is well-maintained, clean, and spacious, creating a comfortable setting for celebrations or casual gatherings. Overall, Isla Restaurant is a place I would gladly recommend to friends and family, and we look forward to coming back.

Kate Kare
All were a bust.
That’s being nice. I can tell that their kare kare stock has been simmering for a while but vegetables were HARD. The eggplant was extremely hard and undercooked. The sisig wasn’t fresh.
I spend half the year in the Philippines and there’s no way other Filipinos really type this food up..
