I was served by an employee with pink hair last night, and I just wanted to say they were really friendly and helpful. They made sure my order was correct and had a kind, welcoming vibe. It’s always refreshing to see someone who genuinely cares about doing their job well, especially in fast food, it’s rare! Definitely a positive experience, me and my kids will definitely be back!

Ordered online, said the order would be ready at around 9:06 P.M. Pulled up right on time, and was pretty much instantly told to park around the front and wait. No big deal at all, I’ve worked in food service and I’m used to having to do the same thing. We waited about 20 minutes past our expected pick up time, and were told they were out of one of the drinks we ordered literally as they are handing us our food. Already kind of bummed so we came back home and the mac and cheese I ordered is just not it. It looks like the end of one of their tubs that they just scraped into a container and called it good. If I go back I’ll either go earlier in the day when I have a better chance at fresh food or I’ll avoid half the menu that people have issues with in other reviews.

Went through drive through, ordered 6 boneless wings and no sauce. Got the wings, they were cool to the touch barely hot. Didn’t check them until I was stopped at the light going to Mission St. Disappointed for sure, ate 3 of them and threw away the rest because they were cold by the time I got to them. WTH can’t keep boneless wings “Hot” unbelievable! Gee thanks for not taking care of your customer.

First I want to say that my hubby and I are huge Popeye’s fans. When their food is cooked the way it’s supposed to be and it’s hot and fresh, it is the BEST fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and Mac n cheese out there.
Then there’s THIS Popeye’s!! We have literally given them 100 chances over the years and they consistently reward us with the absolute worst service, very inconsistent quality, and chintzy portions.
I have written so many bad reviews for this place over the years and I’ve seen all the other bad ones too, yet nothing changes. Obviously customer satisfaction is not a priority at this location.
I was happy to see another one opened up on Commercial St, so we have another option for our chicken craving. I only hope they’re better than this one. There is also one on Lancaster Dr but we live in West Salem, so it’s way out of the way for us.
If you are reading this and wondering if you should come here, I would say DON’T!! I’m not saying that the food will be bad, I’m saying it’s so inconsistent, that you just never know. But don’t say you weren’t warned. If you choose to eat here, eat inside, so you can have them correct any mistakes or chintzy portions.
Everyone knows they are ridiculously overpriced. Yet their chicken pieces keep getting smaller and they severely chintz on their hugely overpriced sides. There is nothing like paying $9 for Mac n Cheese that’s only half full and half the time dried out.
Also, apparently the employees here aren’t smart enough to realize they should give you butter and honey with your biscuits, so trust me, make sure you ask.

The mac and cheese was some of the most grotesque “food” I have encountered. Half of it was burned (evidenced by the layer of burned cheese we had to remove). The rest had been overcooked by prob 6-10 hours, so much so that the “cheese” seemed to changed its properties. The chicken tenders were so overcooked that it was challenging to find any actual meat left in it. At least the biscuit was only several hours old and thus, still edible. You may be thinking: “at least the drinks were good.” Butvthe machine that makes the frozen lemonade, which is why we went there, was surprised surprise: broken.

Food was great. Portions were just okay. A three piece chicken tender costs a heck of a lot for the variable but generally small size of each piece. Unlike other restaurants, they make no consideration for piece size when serving meals and if you get a small and crunchy piece of batter with little to no chicken inside you just lost the Popeye’s lottery.
Staff was overheard talking about scoring poorly on a recent inspection that assessed cleanliness. This is concerning for two reasons: First, they made it sound like they failed. Second, staff didn’t have the foresight to predict that this would be something customers probably would be made uncomfortable by hearing.

Staff was smoking with a cigarette about 3 inches from their kitchen apron during this visit and then sitting in the same apron near the trash. Gross. Portions still very small for a there piece chicken tender. One similar to a chicken finger.
Tables not bussed, no napkins available for this purpose or any purpose (they’re behind the counter and come with your food, so you have to wait at the dirty table for a napkin to clean it with). Bathrooms have a code, this part of Salem has a high population of irresponsible transient folks, so I get it, but it’s a bummer. Restrooms were clean consequently though. Prices are high for a few chicken strips. Parking is limited and oddly shaped. 2/10

The first one was quite some time ago now, but we were bored with burgers and decided to give them a second try because lots of places in Salem were closed on Sunday afternoon. We appreciated that they were open so we’d have a non-burger option and I appreciate that Management reads reviews. The smoking apron thing was pretty gross and the picture of the portions is under a standard business card. But for those two issues, I probably would not have bothered to review a quick stop for fast food.

Even though the food was great, the service certainly wasn’t. The cashier was extremely rude and impatient. The floors were dirty, with lots of food crumbs that were almost rotting. Despite this, the smell was actually appetizing.

“Love that chicken at Popeyes.” NOT anymore! Poor service, small portions (chicken tenders smaller than the biscuit) and unable to get the order correct. Lobby and kitchen full of flies too. If I’ve of noticed the little flyers right away, would’ve and should’ve bailed.
