My daughter has been begging to visit a hot pot restaurant for months. We found this place when we were in Citrus Heights. It’s tucked in a small strip mall close to the Stone Casino. The atmosphere is very pleasant and clean. This is a small family-owned restaurant. The owner, who greeted us upon entering and gave exceptional service was great. We ordered the traditional house soup base. My daughter loved the mushrooms, the dumplings, and the short ribs, and hard-boiled eggs that she added to the broth. She was in heaven. The owner and I had a nice chat afterwards about baseball

We have been coming here for years. When they first opened, we lived around the corner. We moved 20 minutes away almost 7 years ago. We try to come at least once a year. The owner always recognizes us. The house special is the best broth. Lots of fresh veggies and meats to throw in. Papaya salad is the best in the sacramento area.

We finally got to try this place out and it’s was fantastic. We went early on a Saturday night it was only us and another couple. The server (may have been the owner) was so welcoming and cheerful!

We chose the “Fan Favorite” Boat Noodle Broth, which is a solid classic choice, as well as the House Special Tom Yum. That was our favorite!

It was a very relaxed, but fun atmosphere and the man who was helping us was very friendly. Overall a good experience and we want to take our friends there to try it out too.

I absolutely love this place, great prices, great service, and it doesn’t make me feel bloated like other foods. It’s also great for people with dietary restrictions, I’m gluten free and was so glad they had rice noodles. Everything is separate in the fridge so you have nothing to worry about. They also have a nice selection of other things that aren’t hot pot. The main problem I see most people having is finding the price for the soup base, it’s very small but it is right under the steamed rice and above boat noodle broth, it’s $5.50 . I highly recommend it to anyone!

My lady and I both ate the Kasoy soup, which was absolutely delicious. It was so rich in flavour and aroma. Also came to our table nice and hot which is a big plus for me.

The gentleman who served our table was extremely friendly and gave us a warm welcome.

At last I found my place for a good soup. Can’t wait to be back for more.

I highly recommend this place, should you need a bowl of soup.

Will post some pics on my next visit.

Nice little place to go with friends. Very unique Thai style hotpot and definitely interesting to try it out! The portions are little bit small but acceptable, definitely excellent customer service. The owner himself was really nice and care about the customer. Will definitely come back again and highly recommend this place for hotpot.

My wife and I went here for our anniversary and it was great. The owner was awesome and provided excellent customer service. The restaurant was very well kept and had a great vibe to it.

When you first walk in you can see the huge refrigerator in the back where you can get your hotpot items for the broth. Items are categorized by the plate color. Those colors will determine the price. At the end of the night we were super full for the price.

BeBack Rating- yes sir!

We were passing by the area and just happened to notice their business sign. We were curious to see how good their hot pot was since we’ve had it before and loved this style of Pho. The best thing about hot pots is that you can add all kinds of meats, seafood, and vegetables that you prefer to eat with the Pho broth.

Well, they did not disappoint. We loved the idea of picking the ingredients in the different colored plates in plain view so you absolutely know what you’re adding to the soup. We had the beef flavored broth with….well, see the pics.

Yes, I agree that the person who helped us was polite, helpful and attentive. The only negative would be the bowls and plastic soup spoons. I prefer regular utensils and sturdy bowls. Finally, the three color drink was one of the best ones I’ve had and I’ve taken in a whole bunch of em’ over the years with it’s various tapioca and jelly ingredients.

Overall, spending the 15 bucks per person average was worth it at this restaurant!

While driving around the Sacramento area in the evening looking for a late-night dinner spot, I happened upon Hotpot Express.

Hotpot Express provides an innovative take on the traditional hotpot experience in which diners can select their broths (up to 3 different broths can be chosen) and then select their hot pot contents from a self-serve refrigerator. Diners are charged by the plate with each colored plate representing a different price point. They provide a medium-sized selection of noodles, vegetables, meats, fish cakes, and dumplings for patrons to enjoy. The owner was very friendly in explaining the restaurant’s concept and providing us with recommendations, which we appreciated given it was our first time at this spot.

We went with the miso and authentic boat noodle broth. Both broths were very flavorful and I’m definitely glad we were able to sample both! From the fridge we went with a selection of noodles (egg and udon noodles), napa cabbage, seafood mushrooms, fish balls, and tofu. The hot pot ingredients tasted fresh and of high-quality.

If you’re looking for a new hot pot place to try with a unique dining experience to go along with delicious food, then I definitely recommend giving Hot Pot Express a try!

Our first time here was pretty surprising. For such a little hole in the wall, the food was delightful. The Boat Noodle Broth was to die for, and each of the available ingredients was extremely fresh. We did a split broth with the pho, and that too was pretty darn good. Check them out, and let’s make sure this place sticks around!
