So I ordered the chilaquiles with the green sauce with over-medium eggs. I requested for them to add on the sour cream and cheese lightly. They come with a layer of beans underneath the chips, and then it’s topped with chopped tomato, cilantro, and green onion. These are so delicious!! And they got my eggs down perfectly! A lot of times I order over-medium eggs, and the yolk is still too runny or they crack the eggs on high heat to cook them fast without overcooking the yolk, but this usually results in oily overcooked whites. These are seriously perfect!
To my surprise, as I was paying, the girl at the register let me know I get a free drink with my order. I guess entrees above a certain price point include a free drink: your choice between bottled water, a soda can, and YES even an agua fresca. I went with the agua de jamaica. I am definitely coming back!
This spot at Long Beach Blvd. and 7th (730 Long Beach blvd)Street serves up truly authentic, scratch-made tacos. It’s a classic Mom and Pop establishment with flavors that transport you straight to Mexico. Don’t miss out on their lively Taco Tuesday specials. While the tacos are amazing, I highly recommend you try their signature burrito—it’s phenomenal!
Today I tried the veggie burrito, which came with all the expected vegetables: rice, beans, onions, lettuce, and tomatoes. I requested no cheese or sour cream. The portion was very generous—I could have easily cut it in half and saved the rest for later. The salsa was a highlight: both the green and red varieties were freshly made with super delicious and unique flavors.
The only downside is the location. There’s no comfortable seating area since you’ll encounter random homeless people around the premises. I’d recommend taking your order to go and eating elsewhere or in your car. Despite this issue, I think this might be my favorite breakfast and veggie burrito place that I can recall.
