Yesterday my family and I took a ride up to the Adirondacks to go to White Face mountain. We were hungry when we came down into Lake Placid and saw that this restaurant had a porch looking over the mountains and decided to stop. I noticed that the place wasn’t very busy but didn’t think much of it, we were allowed to sit on the porch and the view was indeed beautiful. When the water came the carafe contained some floating insects so we ask the waiter to remove it. As we looked over the menus I noticed that the options were pretty run of the mill and a little disappointed that there weren’t better options on the menu. I ordered the chicken caesar salad while my two children ordered spaghetti and meatballs. I also ordered an appetizer called a spedini which sounded good in its description in the menu. When the food arrived the chicken on the ceasar salad was cold and uncooked and had no flavor, there was hair in one of the meatball dishes and the speedini was a terrible mixture of cheap undercooked mozzarella sticks with what seemed to me like a concoction of frozen mushrooms and red peppers not fully cooked and soaked in a poutine gravy. It was unappetizing to say the least. We had 3 sodas and the bill was over $90. I did not eat my food, the kids stopped eating thiers upon finding the hairs. I paid the bill and left I will never return to this place, nor will I be recommending to anyone.

We came here with a big group of hockey kids and parents (yup… a little chaotic and loud). Service was a bit slow and confusing at first, but they pulled it together and once things got going, the food came out pretty fast.
The food itself was moderate to good. The pasta could’ve been more al dente ..it was on the softer side but the flavor was good. The kids were happy with their meals, which says a lot.
Overall, it’s a solid spot for big groups to hang out and grab a meal.

Cocktails tasted watered down. “Daily fresh baked bread” was not very good. Asked for balsam vinegar for the bread dip and the server brought us vinaigrette and then later brought the wrong salad dressing, probably because of the language barrier. We were one of two tables in the restaurant and we waited a long time for our server to greet us and check on us the entire time. Soup and steak were very very salty. To get to the restrooms you have to go through doors to a different part of the building which isn’t heated so as if it was an outhouse. Restrooms were not in good condition at all they were horrendous I went in and walked right back out. Not the best food for what we paid.

We found this little gem of a restaurant after a long day of adventuring. Called as we drove by in search of a place to eat as 2 other places had an hour long wait time, they were able to get us right in. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The chicken tortellini sauce was amazing! The eggplant parm portion size was plentiful and we enjoyed a window seat with a sunset view.

My husband and I came to the White Bear for a date night. Neither of us had been here before and it was recommended by a coworker and the reviews looked good. It is beautiful and the ambiance is great. We walked and and were immediately greeted, we wanted to request outdoor seating but the host didn’t even let us speak and took us a table inside. She dropped our menus and sprinted away. When a server stopped at the table we asked to go outside instead. He brought us to a table outside and gave us a pitcher of water. After a few minutes another server came with a bread basket and oil, which was very good. We had to ask for glasses to drink the water. Salads came out fast and were good. My husband got a Montreal steak and I got the chicken lapiccata. Both of which were very bland, I did have to ask for salt and pepper because there were none at the tables. Honestly the bread and salad were the best part of the whole meal.

We had a microwedding in the area and needed a spot for dinner for 25 guests, including a few children. Not only did they accommodate the size of the party, but they got drinks out quickly, and then all meals out hot AND at the same time! Incredible food – so tasty with really generous portions – and such friendly and capable staff! Everyone really was kind, and while I know this must have been a challenge, we at no point felt that from anyone serving us. Everything was correct, they were totally on top of getting drinks, and dishes were cleared quickly. I cannot say enough good things about this place – truly impressive and we are so grateful!

I ate here tonight and it was amazing! The waiter Adnan frozen hot chocolate martini was very smooth, beautiful, flavorful, marshmallow, it was such an amazing unique drink. I had the scallops and the size was amazing and delicious plus they’re from bay harbor with the mushrooms it was a perfect addition. The best scallops I’ve had coast to coast! Prosciutto was awesome, the cream white sauce was delicious and fresh. I highly recommend anyone in the area to eat here and definitely make the journey to check this place out! The staff were friendly and attentive.

It’s a good restaurant, but if you’re there when entire hockey teams descend upon it then you might feel like your table has become an afterthought. The waiter/waitress will be too busy with the party of 30-40 people. Calamari needs to be less salty and no one uses cocktail sauce with Calamari. The wine was good. Cheesecake was decent.

Our party of 6 all enjoyed their meals. Service was pleasant. The live music was a nice touch, fun listening, but soft enough to still carry a conversation.

Safe to say we will not be returning. Waited 30 minutes just to get our drink order taken, an hour for food… just for ALFREDO to be gross and taste like butter. Server ask what we didn’t like about it and had snarky comments back. Table next to us also did not even seen their server- the hostess took their order… pretty fricken sad. Give your hostess a raise because he’s doing far more than your servers. If you can not work fast paced, please don’t be a waitress and don’t give attitude when your CUSTOMERS do not like their food. Very disappointing of a restaurant. And to read the responses from the owner- you should not be running a business if that’s how you handle feedback from customers.
