We had just finished a full day of driving and hiking and were craving good, comforting food. We ordered takeout and tried a little of everything (except pork). The teriyaki and rice were amazing, the meats were flavorful and tender, and the homemade desserts were the perfect ending. The mac & cheese could use a little extra “umph,” but it was still tasty. Their sauces—which you can even buy online—are absolutely delicious.
We also grabbed a root beer float to go. You get to pick your own root beer from their fridge, and they had so many options. We went with Hank’s, and it was the perfect choice.
Coming from Texas, we know good BBQ, and this place truly delivered—even as takeout. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere—we left full, happy, and impressed. Highly recommend!
We had smoked brisket, turkey, and shared peach cobbler. Meet was moist cobbler was nicely caramelized and amazing!!
What surprised us the most was how moist and tender turkey was. The edge of peach cobbler was caramelized and was so yummy.
Staff was very friendly and helping a customer in wheelchair and having casual conversation.
The restaurant also has a little store attached to it. I bought a large ceramic dish made by local artist.
I totally recommend this place.
Brisket: 9/10 excellent!
Pulled pork: 9/10 excellent!
Turkey: 6/10 (a little dry)
Mac and cheese: 7/10
Beans: 8.5/10
House BBQ sauce: 10/10 (really good!)
Carolina Gold BBQ sauce: 9/10 (really good with a little kick)
Would definitely go back!
I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in town.
The atmosphere was enjoyable, though the road sign was a little hard to read due to low contrast in the lettering. Seating inside is limited, but there are a few picnic tables outside.
My meal and drink came to $14.47. They offer plenty of root beer options, but I wish they had a bit more variety beyond that and a few basic sodas—orange cream or cream soda would have been a nice addition.
The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is that I reserve five stars for very special occasions (maybe I’m a tough critic?).
Update: it was yummy but I had the BBQ burps for like 12 hours after :/
Each type of meat presented a distinct, smoky flavor. From the smoked brisket that simply melted in my mouth to the pulled pork, it was all incredibly juicy and flavorful. The meats were served with a selection of house-made sauces that further accentuated the flavors, taking the whole experience to a higher, tastier level.
The service was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a team ready to provide a memorable dining experience.
What truly surprised me though, was the impressive array of root beers available. Who knew there were so many
Overall, the dining experience was an unforgettable symphony of smoky flavors, exceptional service. This is a must try.
Loved it❤️
I had a brisket sandwich. The brisket was great and they make pretty good bbq sauce, too. It had a lot of meat on it. They served it on a hoagie roll. I would have preferred a regular burger bun. I’ll have to see if they have em next time. It was good enough that I ordered another half pound of brisket and a half pound of rib tips to go!! Mac n cheese was nothing to write home about.
The peach cobbler was really good as well. I gave that a try with a scoop of ice cream on top
Highly recomend this place!!
