This is not a review about their food or drinks but rather about their service. I called the restaurant last September to ask about the possibility of having a private event (small wedding reception) at their venue and who answered the phone told me that yes, it was possible and to send them an email to start the conversation about it. So, I sent the email right away with our info and request and a person (Badra) answered promptly saying again that it was possible to have a private party and attaching a catering menu. He said to email back when we had a final date for the reception to finalize the request and food menu. Perfect! I was so happy to have found the location and started telling friends about it. A couple of weeks later I circled back to the email with the final date and asking for finalizing details and confirming the availability of the place. From this moment on SILENCE. My partner and I followed up with two more emails every week or so (the email listed on the website is still the same), assuming they might just have overlooked an email by mistake (it can happen to anyone), but no answer. We even called back to make sure that they knew about our inquiry and confirm that we were still interested in having our party at their venue but the person that answered the phone had no information for us and said that we had to communicate with the owners through email (funny!). After trying to reach them multiple times with NO answers we decided to find another venue. The entire situation was very stressful, and felt very negligent on their side. Even if they had decided to not host the event anymore, an email informing us of that would have been very appreciated and would have saved us weeks of waiting around before finding a different venue.

place; vibes, food.
Burger is great. Be sure to get the double patties for the full effect.
Kale salad is good but a little over dressed and salty, in my opinion.
Be mindful there’s not a lot of parking spaces. You’ll find free street parking if you just drive around a bit, but it does require a brief walk in a hilly neighborhood.
Nom nom nom!

I ordered a large custom charcuterie board with short notice and could not have been more happy with my experience! All staff I engaged with were so incredibly helpful and they made it easy for me to bring everything to a brewery with plates, serving tongs, napkins, etc. Highly recommend using them to cater your next party!

What a cute shop with 3 levels, and outdoor seating. Top level has a wine bar for 21+, 1st floor is where the main cash register is located and some crackers, cheese miscellaneous food items, and basement has their kitchen and a few small tables for seating, and some more food products they sell (like a mini mart). There is free parking behind the restaurant. There is a back entrance from the parking lot that leads to the top floor where the wine/alcohol is served. There are 2 individual bathrooms located on the top floor as well. We don’t drink alcohol, so we went down to the 1st level to check out their other products offered. The front entrance leads to the first floor.
We came here because we heard from a local that they sell coffee there, and we ordered a Chai Latte and Oatmilk latte. The lady staff was so kind, friendly and welcoming, and guided us to sit down and the drinks will be brought to us. We opted to sit in the basement. There are a few small tables there. My daughter and I really enjoyed our chai latte. It was delicious. However, the oatmilk latte was a little on the sour/acidic side for our taste. But we’d definitely come back to try their sandwiches in the future, hopefully when the weather gets warmer and we can sit outdoors.
Their google map hours said they close at 6pm on Tuesday, but we found out that they close at 8pm. So you should call ahead to check on their hours. Also, they’re not open early in the morning.

Nice little spot for a deli, wine shop/bar and cafe. The place is beautifully renovated and pleasant. There is parking behind the building and a nice outdoor area. The menu has a nice selection of items, although if you have a gluten allergy the pickings are slim (and you are stuck with the southern fries). They are brand new but I hope as they grow more options might appear on the menu. 🙂

Love the daffy grilled cheese. The decoration is nice and staff is friendly. There are a lot of wine and cheese options.
2nd visit – I ordered tomato soup and Cemita sandwich. The sandwich is so good. The bread is fresh and avocado and sauce is tasty. The chicken is nice and crispy. The soup is also delicious.

Very friendly neighborhood place I enjoy going to fairly often, to meet up with friends for a glass of wine and a bite to eat. They have a relatively short menu, but something on it pretty much for everyone. Nothing I have eaten there was anything short of delicious.

The Girl and The Vine is a market, deli, and cafe that opened in April 2019 in Takoma Park, Maryland just passed the Takoma Main Street. There’s wood seating in the patio outside and once you walk in, you’ll see the market part of the store (they sell local products too like Small Planes Roastery coffee beans). Signs will direct you downstairs for the wine shop and deli (try their famous mac and cheese) and upstairs for the cafe. The cafe is spacious with several tables and a long bar off to the side.
I ventured into The Girl and The Vine on Friday afternoon for lunch. I ordered a deliciously refreshing glass of Sauvignon blanc white wine and the chicken schnitzel BLT sandwich (I was sold when I found out it came topped with a pickled green tomato). My entire order was perfectly filling, delicious, and only came to $20.
If you’re looking for your next hangout spot, go to The Girl and The Vine!

The sandwiches and snacks here are pretty good. It’s in a nice location and the dining area is pretty chill. Definitely take some time to poke around at the wines downstairs. They have fair prices and some great options.

Ordered the chicken schnitzel BLT along with the sweet & spicy grilled cheese and some Mexican coke bottles. Was blown away by how good the food tasted! Decent prices as well. The pepper jelly on the grilled cheese was delicious and the chicken schnitzel condiments paired perfectly with the meat. Would give it an A+ personally! Highly recommend this place!
