Wow. What a disappointment. We came to one of our go to places for a good meal. All dishes from appetizers to mains were served on paper and plastic dishes and the portions were so small. When we asked the waiter what the heck was going on, he said that the owner was being very cheap and saving on a dishwasher and he was sorry but the owner had to drive a Tesla.

A great location for families and kids-friendly. We loved having a table seat outside. From start to end, the staff was really friendly. We had a table booked online, came to check in, and asked for a seat outside because the weather was so good. The waiter was nice, took our order, and brought out the food quickly and smoothly. The food was very tasty, delicious, and well-flavored. Thank you.

THIS IS THE BEST RAMEN SPOT IN ALABAMA!! It’s true, genuine ramen, and I know because I’ve been to Japan and tried countless bowls of authentic ramen. Coming back to Alabama, the restaurants that sell “ramen” always left much to be desired, they were way too Americanized or just lacking impact.
At Umami, the ramen tastes straight from Japan. The broth is sooo rich and tasteful. You can sip on it by itself and it’s a delightful experience. Not to mention the traditional toppings are to die for—Naruto, bamboo shoot, seaweed, and the chasu pork is extremely well flavored. It’s absolutely divine.
I’ve come 3 times, so far the Naruto Ramen has been my favorite (who’s surprised) and will continue to come again and again. Amazing customer service from all staff!! Kudos to the chefs!! Thank you for bringing a slice of Japan to Birmingham!!

Everything was great from start to finish! Food, service, cocktails and hospitality! Pork belly tacos and pork belly ramen were both amazing. Best smoked old fashion I’ve had. Sushi was delicious as well as the nacho appetizer. 10/10 definitely recommend! Thank you Gus and staff!

This is possibly the best experience I have had at a restaurant. The outside bartender was super nice and courteous which set us in a great mood. The service was perfect, we didn’t wait for anything, in fact I was amazed how fast the food came out. The food. Mercy. The food is off the chain. Vegetarian spring rolls with sauce was ridiculously good. Sushi tacos had such a delicious and unique flavor. My spicy pork belly ramen made me rethink everything I know about cooking. I would give 6 stars if I could.

Not only was our server fun and knowledgeable, our food and drinks were amazing! I got the jalapeño mojito and it was perfectly made, notes of mint, lime, and just the right amount of spice. The food was delicious too, we got basil duck tacos and bulgogi tacos. Every bite was heavenly ❤️ will be back!

Enjoyed the food, my waitresses was really nice and the place looked amazing as well as the outside seemed like it would be great for family when it’s not raining. The sushi here is a little more expensive than some other places. My only complaint is a personal one and has nothing to do with the actual restaurant, and that is that the menu is different from the downtown location. There are some real gems on the menu missing and I was excited thinking they would be a closer copy of the same menu, but things like the chicken tacos or even a salmon roll are no where to be seen. Again, that is just a personal thing, but I added it just in case it might help others.
