We go here for most of our special events and weve been blown away by the service as well as the different fish dishes we’ve had over the years. The grilled calamari alone is worth the trip. I also really can’t say enough about the amazing swordfish I had the last time I visited the galleria – I asked for it in a spicy red sauce and they delivered! The fish itself was fresh and tender and the sauce spicy and delcious.
Go to the galleria the next time you are craving upscale Italian and you won’t be disappointed!
Finished diner with Grappa (curtesy of restaurant)
Will definitely comeback.
We happen to be in the neighborhood looking for a restaurant that had a sandwich I wanted to try that I saw on youtube. Yes, it sounds crazy but the sandwich looked like a bucket list sandwich for the foodies like me. Plus, I hit the gym five days this week, so this was supposed to be my reward day.
As things happen for a reason. Sandwich place was closed, and this Gino’s spot was across the street. We like peeked in the window, and the place was not packed. The tables had white tablecloths and a wood layout. It’s almost like a modern pizza restaurant that is staying true to its roots.
We walked in and told the guys behind the counter we wanted to dine in. One of the guys then took the immediate lead and made us feel welcome while letting us select our table.
Then came a very fresh buttery bread while we digest the menu. The selection were plentiful. The garlic nuts appetizer came out right away. We order some white wine which was interesting because we it was a type we had never heard before called HJ. Plus, the wine came in a can, which maybe we are old school but is usually a red flag. But the waiter was an older guy who was so pleasant that we said why not. Then it came with ice Lol. Which is another redflag for most wine connoisseurs. However, I have to say it was good and refreshing. We even took a picture of it to buy for the house.
The food was great. I order Chicken Parmesan and garlic and oil paste. While my lady ordered the Eggplant Rollatini.
The atmosphere was warm, which was nice. I was able to find street parking in front of the restaurant that was meter based but reasonable.
Thank you to the owner and the staff for the experience we will be back.
Unfortunately, he sold the restaurant and we decided to give it a try with the new owner, Bruno. When Bruno walked over to our table, I explained that we had been devoted customers for over 25 years. Having been told that, you’d think he’d try to make a good impression and keep us happy so that we’d come back.
When we got our check, there was a $2 surcharge because we shared a Caesar salad. In all the years I’ve been going there, we were never charged anything to share a salad. When I complained about it to the waiter ( he’s the one who charged the $2 ) he said to talk to the owner, which I did. He had the nerve to tell me that times are hard and that’s the reason for the surcharge. I said Dominick never did that. He grudgingly removed the $2.
The point is, we will never go back there. Because of his pettiness, he lost a lot more than $2. He lost two good customers. He had a chance to impress us, and he just turned us off. His loss.
