Surprised this place is still in business. Went in today to get sandwiches for my family. Good luck ordering anything with fish because, although it’s on the menu, they do not have fish. Ended up getting two cubanos, (both came out cold and were prepared without gloves), and a meatball sub. Got a smoothie too, advertised as a “fruit smoothie” and watched them blend ice and boxed smoothie mix. Smoothies are super concentrated and not fresh at all. Got home to eat the meatball sub, and found this in the middle of the sandwich. Went back to let the owner know, and he took the piece of plastic, threw it away and said “i’m sorry.” Didn’t offer any reparations, refunds, or anything. Highly disappointed. Place is dirty too.

Subs were amazing!!!!! Hands down the best Italian sub I’ve had in a long time. The service was great. You could tell they actually enjoyed their jobs. Definitely will be our new normal spot.

I went today for the first time because I read they had Cuban sandwiches plus I’ve heard great things about this place. Anyway, the Cuban tasted just like one you would get in Florida. It was pressed to perfection. Everything was on point!! Oh, and I grabbed a homemade chocolate chip cookie too that was delicious! I will be back✌️

I ordered a Cuban and it was cold, the man who mad it surly, and the cashier literally said, “you can get it yourself” when we ordered drinks instead of using any type of politeness.
The drinks were hot. You’ll sit outside constantly waving flies away from your sandwich.

Really good subs! We had a quick lunch here through the week and it was worth it. We got a Cuban and Spicy Italian and loved them both. I would definitely go here again!

Last time trying this place, after driving almost an hour to get here and find them closed again. Arrived at 1pm to find doors locked even though hours on Google state 10:30-2pm on Sunday. Already only open 3 1/2 hours on Sunday and apparently that is too much to handle. Not the first time this has happened and we won’t make that mistake again plenty of other options in the area.

It is conveniently located at the beach on the main road, Ford Macon Road en route to the Circle and other Atlantic Beach public shorelines. Beachgoers can shop local and stop in for something refreshing and will love colorful Sub Tropics – a sandwich, wrap and smoothie spot that’s located in the heart of Atlantic Beach, just off the Atlantic Beach Causeway.
I love what one review on google said, “cheerful customization from the chief, Charles.”
I also added a pic of some dolphins we saw. Be kind to the animals tho and be sure pick up all of your trash while at the beach.

The food itself isn’t bad. The old man behind the counter took me and my girlfriend’s order and gave us the wrong sizes and wrong cheeses. When i noticed my size was wrong i said to the young woman making my sub “That’s a half and i ordered a whole” she just pretended i didn’t say anything. then at the end they ask for a tip! For what? AVOID THIS PLACE.
