I went to bar and ordered a drink of juice as I dont drink booze. They were out of orange juice so the bartender offered me grapefruit juice. I said fine. I gave her $5 but she told me it would be $5.94 for the old fashioned sized glass of juice. I gave her another $5 bill and had my drink.
Even the regular guy next to me was surprised at the cost. He said dont tip the bartender due to high cost of the drink.
I did not complain to bartender as there was no cover charge and the place was very full. Still the price for juice drink should not be that high.
It looks like they’re starting to do some much needed updates and repairs to their establishment. The bathrooms have recently been remodeled, which are very nice! Unfortunately, you have to either walk through a cold corridor right in front of the kitchen or go through the very dark dungeness bar side to get to the (nice) bathrooms. Hopefully their bar stools and some other seating areas are next in line as they’re in pretty sad shape and could use some updates/ repairs.
The delicious food and friendly service are definitely what keeps us coming back, though! 🙂
Last night I was craving Chinese food for some reason and it’s close to my place so I decided to relax and get out for a while, so thought I’d try it again.
As pointed out in several other reviews about the food, I had a couple of wraps of mushu pork and then kind of realized “where’s the pork”?????? It was basically a very tiny bit of mystery meat sausage and all vegetables.
Then I realized there wasn’t really any egg in it either so basically it was a huge plate of vegetables which had good flavor but for a huge expensive price tag as a “specialty” dish, it was absolutely not very “special”.
When I told the waitress about it, I was told “maybe next time you should sit in the bar” so is that where the pork is hiding??? I thought they kept it in the kitchen.???
Why would I sit in the bar when I wasn’t there to drink, and my main focus was on having some food and trying to just relax? Would I get more pork in my pork dish in the bar?
It just didn’t make sense. And for the very high price of something I hadn’t tried in years, I should have just gone to Mexican food, or for half the price I could have gotten a taco time vegetable burrito without pork and a delicious side of mexi fries.
Then they gave me a paper cup of the mystery pork and tried to upsell me some more of the wraps that you wrap it in to eat it, so they could make even more money off of an already overpriced dish that was not true mushu pork.
Sorry to say but I probably won’t be back there again and should have just walked across the street to the grocery store by my apartment and had a better meal out of the deli case for less than half the price.
