Recently visited this restaurant to hear some live music. Although the food looked good I did not partake as Chinese food and me are not compatible.

I went to bar and ordered a drink of juice as I dont drink booze. They were out of orange juice so the bartender offered me grapefruit juice. I said fine. I gave her $5 but she told me it would be $5.94 for the old fashioned sized glass of juice. I gave her another $5 bill and had my drink.

Even the regular guy next to me was surprised at the cost. He said dont tip the bartender due to high cost of the drink.

I did not complain to bartender as there was no cover charge and the place was very full. Still the price for juice drink should not be that high.

We love going here to listen to music but we always freeze. The owners could care less about your comfort. Everyone was wearing heavy coats.. If you want people to come back warm the place up!!!

‘Ya know, Honey…,’ our lovely server told me, ‘…we don’t have the derelicts, low lifes, and homeless people eating here, anymore.’ Well, she got one right, because I’m not homeless. This beloved place and our family go waaaay back (early 1990s), and I will say the inside looks as good as I’ve ever seen it. But it is in a less desirable area of downtown, and would hardly ever be considered a first date night destination. That said, I’ve always come away with the feeling of….why the heck do I love this food so? Wifey was feelin’ it, and insisted on the Dinner for 2, for $50, with pretty much the most mundane offerings of the Chin-Amer fare that one could have, i.e., Almond Chicken, S&S Chicken, etc. I really wish I could give you some specific reason why we were just staring at each other and shaking our heads on how good it all was, but I guess I’ll need another decade+ of reviewing to figure out how…

This is a great spot to come for a meal and live music. You have options. You can sit on the dinning room ride where its more quiet and strictly restaurant only. Or you can go to the other side. Which is a dive bar. With pool tables, lots of seating for dining and drinks and full bar. You can order food on the bar side as well. The food is amazing and the portions are enough to share with two people. Stopped in for the live music and wound up ordering drinks and an amazing dinner. Definitely worth stopping by.

We were told not to go here by the front desk guy at our motel, so we had to go!? Very interesting mixed race young and old crowd. When two average looking white guys walk in, most of the crowed scurried away ” cops are here”? The bartender was a bit grumpy at first, but he warmed after he figured out we were just regular guys. By that time there was only a few older white folks left listening to a DJ playing boom boom music, he didn’t have any Doobie brothers or eagles in his set. The food was reasonable and tasted good, I get the feeling most patrons don’t eat there.

My husband and I really enjoy the food and have always had great service here! Although we usually Dine-In, this time was a Take-Out order.

It looks like they’re starting to do some much needed updates and repairs to their establishment. The bathrooms have recently been remodeled, which are very nice! Unfortunately, you have to either walk through a cold corridor right in front of the kitchen or go through the very dark dungeness bar side to get to the (nice) bathrooms. Hopefully their bar stools and some other seating areas are next in line as they’re in pretty sad shape and could use some updates/ repairs.

The delicious food and friendly service are definitely what keeps us coming back, though! 🙂

A dive bar in a sketchy part of town, I came to check out the band. I was charged $20 for a strong cocktail, but the regular next to me was charged $9. The bartender told me that she was including band cover in my drink. If that’s the case, they should announce that when you walk in. For that reason, I’ll never be back. I felt pretty unwelcome and didn’t want to be there after that.

I took a friend there a few months ago and we did have fun visiting with each other, but the well drinks I got for her were about the only thing good about it.

Last night I was craving Chinese food for some reason and it’s close to my place so I decided to relax and get out for a while, so thought I’d try it again.

As pointed out in several other reviews about the food, I had a couple of wraps of mushu pork and then kind of realized “where’s the pork”?????? It was basically a very tiny bit of mystery meat sausage and all vegetables.

Then I realized there wasn’t really any egg in it either so basically it was a huge plate of vegetables which had good flavor but for a huge expensive price tag as a “specialty” dish, it was absolutely not very “special”.

When I told the waitress about it, I was told “maybe next time you should sit in the bar” so is that where the pork is hiding??? I thought they kept it in the kitchen.???

Why would I sit in the bar when I wasn’t there to drink, and my main focus was on having some food and trying to just relax? Would I get more pork in my pork dish in the bar?

It just didn’t make sense. And for the very high price of something I hadn’t tried in years, I should have just gone to Mexican food, or for half the price I could have gotten a taco time vegetable burrito without pork and a delicious side of mexi fries.

Then they gave me a paper cup of the mystery pork and tried to upsell me some more of the wraps that you wrap it in to eat it, so they could make even more money off of an already overpriced dish that was not true mushu pork.

Sorry to say but I probably won’t be back there again and should have just walked across the street to the grocery store by my apartment and had a better meal out of the deli case for less than half the price.
