Lunch order was a chicken set (tikka masala & jalfrezi ‘mild’) and vegetable set (saag panir & dal mahkhini ‘spicy’), tandoori chicken, aloo gobi, dumplings, dal soup (compt because they were out of one, so I got to try this one☺️) & cheese naan. Both veg dishes and soup were excellent. I didn’t find ‘spicy’ designation accurate or spicy enough for me personally, but I’m not mad at it (keep it at least that level if not more) it had really good flavor. The chicken Jalfrezi and tandoori chicken were also hits, though I didn’t personally try those. Feedback on tikka was meh, but maybe if we get it ‘medium’ next time. Cheese naan was delicious and the aloo gobi appetizer was excellent too…but maybe this place being primarily takeout does it a disservice because it’s not as crispy as it might be otherwise.
Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend trying this new restaurant which is a welcome addition to our town in my opinion!
Sir: I’m not trying to hinder your business. You first claimed this was a fake review and asked for proof of my purchase and to post a picture. I obliged. Now you’re claiming I’m somehow trying to hurt your business. This is not the case. Im simply reviewing my experience with your business and if calling me names in a public form is how you react towards a paying customer I wonder how you react when things arent in the public eye. I wish you nothing but the best and I’m here to support you as I’m literally a 2min walk from you. I will return and give your business another try.
Aye t̾e̾r̾p̾y̾fam ya guy pulled up on HEBrookfield to check out the new spot n this review pains me….
This is solely based on my experience w/their other place in newtown (1000× better).
Unfortunately this express is not on target or brand considering how amazing their other location is.
The cashier was extremely friendly and the vibes are immaculate, lemme get that out of the way.
My issues are in the food itself. While the menu is near identical to the one up the road the quality of the food is lightyears apart.
We ordered two sets of momo’s, a chicken curry, a chicken tikka masala, and a lamb korma (some of our favorites in newtown) however when we got home we were extremely disappointed.
The momo’s looked like they had been previously made and sitting under a hot lamp as well as not uniform and poorly presented, the sauces didn’t feel like a continuation from their other outpost but rather like jarred sauces you get at the store to make a quick curry at home and the korma was absent that cashew flavor we have grown accustomed to from their other place.
Really bummed out as I had extremely high hopes this closer spot would be a new go-to. Oh well can’t win em all!
And then they try to sneak in a twenty percent tip on their machine.
I’ll choose what I want to tip for take put. You don’t. you you pay your employees.
