First time in and it was very nice. An upscale Mexican restaurant with an extensive menu. Prices are on the upper end but so is the quality and size of the portions. Their “house margarita” was quite good and worth the $10 price tag. Service from Luis was great, attentive without being overbearing. The portion sizes lend themselves to sharing if you and your dining partner can agree on an entree. Parking (including handicapped) is adequate and convenient. Really looking forward to coming back this summer and having a few drinks with chips and salsa outside on the patio! A welcome addition to the dining choices in Middleburg!

Went here for the first time and it was a great experience. The atmosphere was great and our service was even better. The food was decent and our waiter Camilo made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely will be back

This restaurant is by far my new place to eat. The service, food and ambiance was everything. We didn’t have to wait long to be seated and the food came out immediately and hot. What I love most was the fish and shrimp bowl and my mom the fajitas. If you’re a competitor jump on this flavor train because it’s superb

We’ve been to the location downtown and was so excited to hear we’d have one local! Went today and had a great experience. Food was amazing and so was the service! This will undoubtedly be our new date spot ❤️

Went to try this new place for lunch with my family. Everything was 10/10! Our server, Ivalia, was awesome and very attentive. Food was excellent! Huge portions. My husband and I shared the Molcajete and it was so so good! And the place was beautiful. We will definitely be back.

We have visited a couple of times since this location opened. The food is good. The portions are huge. Hubby always gets something with steak and it is consistently well flavored and cooked well. I favor chimichangas which I would recommend.

I really wanted to like this place, but it’s doubtful I’ll return.

We arrived shortly after opening, so the place was pretty empty. There were maybe 2 other tables occupied.

It took a few minutes to be seated, and of all those available, we were seated at a dirty one that had not been wiped down. Fortunately, we had extra napkins, so I quietly wiped all the last patron’s crumbs onto the floor.

The menus were new enough to still smell like a new shower curtain, but already spotted with dried salsa and other appetizer drippings. (My family and I were thoroughly amused by the “Crilled chicken” listing!)

The food was decent, but took a long time to order and receive, and was WAY overpriced. A $20 plate is not a weekday “lunch special,” especially for traditional Mexican food.

Our server was great, but he had a difficult time keeping up with all the tables once more patrons were seated.

I can overlook the minor hiccups in service and kitchen efficiency since the restaurant is still newly opened, but the lack of cleanliness has me raising an eyebrow; especially since the restaurant newly opened. Halfway through the meal, I noticed more dirt and hair on the window ledge against the table, and a small bug on the wall in the bathroom.

Anejo Cocina is new Mexican Restaurant that opened in the Middleburg, Florida area. It’s a 1/4 mile down from the Walmart off of Branan Field and is located in a newly developed strip mall across from the hospital. The place inside and out is gorgeous. Plenty of space inside, it can accommodate large parties or a simple date for two. There is plenty of free parking and the place is handicapped accessible. Staff is very warm and friendly and we’re very patient while my wife and I looked over the huge menu. From various appetizers, to ceviches, to tacos, to fajitas, to burritos, chimichangas, to enchiladas……the list goes on and on. They have speciality plates, lunch specials, steaks, combos well you got my drift. Be prepared, if you havent previewed the menu before you go, to do a lot of reading. My wife got the Red Snapper plate *market price $36* and I got the enchiladas supreme $19.50. The food was hot, filling and was just as the menu pictures. My wifes only complaint was that the fish could have had more seasoning beyond the traditional salt and pepper. The rest of the dish, outside of her rice being warm and not hot, was on point. I had no complaint about my meal. It was delicious. If you leave here hungry, it’s your own fault. The portion sizes are huge. One lady ordered burrito and from what I saw, it covered her whole plate. She definitely took home leftovers. When you order, it will take time because every order is made fresh, but it’s worth it. This is a great place for a casual dining experience. There is a bar with a ton of specialty drink options if you are into that as well. Even though this restaurant is a part of a franchise, the ambiance of the place and the staff makes it feel like a mom and pop restaurant. There is even an outside dining area when the weather is more comfortable. Im definitely returning back

We went for our Monday outing…
This place did not disappoint.

Drinks: ordered a house strawberry margarita. (Had two) kinda strong.

Appetizers: we ordered pork belly and queso… YUM! YUM!

Entree: my hubby ordered steak fajitas and I ordered the carne asada. DAYUM. The beans!!

We split a flan for dessert. It was OK. Not a fan of the chocolate sauce but it was pretty good.

Service was outstanding. And the place was adorbs!!!

The bathroom was CLEAN!!! and very lovely tiles!!

Definitely coming back.

We found out about their soft opening today in a local group on Facebook and decided to give it a try since it’s very close to home. We were greeted and quickly seated. Our server was Nancy and she was very nice and seemed to be experienced. She made sure we had drink refills and asked if there was anything else we needed on several occasions. I had their steak nachos which were very delicious! It was probably the best steak I’ve had from a Mexican restaurant in Clay county. It was tender and easy to eat. Even my picky 11 year old liked it. My husband had the chicken fajitas and really liked them, as well. My son ordered 2 tacos but didn’t care for the seasoning on the ground beef. It seemed to be lacking in salt and they were a bit greasy. We also did question the peas and carrots in their rice. It didn’t taste much like Mexican style rice to us. We did love the queso! To my husband and I, it was probably the best and most flavorful in the area. Overall, it was more on the upscale side so it was priced a little higher than our usual go-to Mexican restaurant but we will definitely be back!
