This was a Japanese restaurant my husband and I discovered by surprise — and it was such a wonderful find. It’s very quiet; we sat down around 5 PM. They have some special items on their menu, and every dish is beautifully crafted. The sashimi is a must-order. For dessert, we tried the “Magic Grape” — it felt whimsical and unexpected!

The overall atmosphere is perfect for a date or a celebration. The restaurant is located inside an office building, so you might have to look a bit carefully because the signage outside isn’t very obvious.

Highly recommended — this is definitely a place I would return to. I really love all the thoughtful details in their service, even their tableware has a sense of aesthetics and design.

This place was amazing. Our chef and waiter were both very attentive and super nice. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming and the food was really good. We did the omakase. Their desserts are amazing too!! Worth every penny.

Dining at Sasabune Glendale was nothing short of extraordinary. From the very first bite, the omakase meal felt like a story unfolding — a journey across the sea, where each course revealed another chapter of flavors, textures, and artistry. Every piece of fish was pristine, each preparation balanced and intentional, and the flow of the meal built a sense of anticipation and wonder.

What makes the experience even more special is its surprising location. Tucked inside a mall, right next to a California Pizza Kitchen, you’d never guess such a world-class omakase experience could be hidden here. But once you sit down and the first dish arrives, you know you’ve discovered something truly unique.

Sasabune Glendale is not just a restaurant — it’s an unforgettable adventure for anyone who loves sushi at its highest level.

5 Star Dining Experience and Freshest of Sashami. Great Value on the Happy Hour Menu!

I’m not used to “upscale sushi” or I guess authentic really. The place really caught me off guard by how nice it was and how impeccable the service is from start to finish. They give you a little warmed wet towel to clean your hands when you walk in, it was a nice touch.

I cannot stress how much the happy hour menu made it easy for me. It was a very fair price for what I received and was extremely filling, I got a plate of sashimi to start, 7 sushi pieces, a crab hand roll, oysters and mussels, and a Sapporo beer to wash it down. Everything was delicious and high quality.

Although a little hard to find and nestled between a loud Olive Garden, it was such a nice hidden surprise, would definitely go back to support more!

What a wonderful place! On the pricier side, but definitely worth it. My friend and I went for the Omakase meal and it was an exceptional experience. The service was fast and great, and the food was delicious and authentic. You can tell the people working care about their craft. They were generous and nice to us. Would definitely come again!

This is the best and freshest sushi in LA. Truly a hidden gem. My friend and I did the $200 omakase and it was honestly worth every penny.

I loved the anago, toro, crab, oyster, uni!! And the matcha dessert

Great service and high quality Japanese food! I’ll definitely be back, thank you Chef!!

Easy to park since they validate!

I was at this restaurant last night…SASABUNE GLENDALE CA.

I’m appalled by how racist people are. I arrived with a person with a disability, and a woman came out to ask us, “Do you have a table reserved?” “No.”

Then she went to the man who prepares the food and asked if we could come in. He said yes, because they gave us a table. An empty place…there was only one other table occupied. But before we took the table, the waitress asked us if we wanted to see the prices first and see if we could order…and if we knew how to eat sushi. We said yes, and we sat down.

We ordered three different things for the two of us. But surprise! They only give you one tiny piece of each and charge $11, $13, or $15 for that tiny piece.
I didn’t even eat. I paid $83 and gave a tip, but my question is… Because there are still RACIST people who think we don’t know how to eat… or that we can’t afford it. They’re demanding when it comes to getting into this place, but they’re MISERABLE WITH THE FOOD.

We’ve been to very good restaurants in Burbank and Glendale where the service is much better.

It hurt to have wasted my money on those people and that MISERABLE food.
I went out for pizza right away… and what KIND people… Polite… and cheerful. POSITIVE people.

You would never assume arguably the best omakase around Glendale would be hidden in this office building but here we are! The restaurant is small with a relaxed vibe. The service was friendly and accommodating. We had the regular omakase and it was a good amount of food! The quality was among the best I have had and certainly at this price point. I look forward to going back!

My second time omakase at Sasabune. I’ve tried multiple locations or other restaurants, but one in Glendale is the best. The location is hard to find, but if you direct to California Pizza Kitchen, they are right next to it.

We’ve ordered Japanese omakase and it was phenomenal experience. More than enough and fresh sushi and sashimi.

It’s as good as you eating sushi in Japan! It reminded us of sushi in Tsukiji in Japan. We’ll definitely come back again!!
