Definitely authentic. Delicious food. Everything was on point. Great staff. Highly recommend reservations especially if you want to sit at the sushi bar as that area needs at least 48-hrs advance notice.

I first have to say the service was great, attentive host & waitress and the food came out fast.

The food however was terrible. By far the worst sushi I’ve ever had. Most of it smelled and tasted sour and off. The rolls less questionable in taste were 90% rice, a comical amount. The amount of fish “inside” was absolutely lacking, see my picture of Hawaii 5O, hardly any eel and mostly fat. My husband’s role was labeled as snow crab, but in reality it was just imitation crab meat .We stopped eating halfway through afraid of getting food poisoning but didn’t want to insult the nice staff so we paid the bill and left…. $87 for questionable food.

There’s strange warning at the front of a 90 minute dining time… I don’t know who could possibly sit in there that long. We will not be returning.

Great mom and pop style joint that we hit on our way out of the island. Service was prompt and friendly. Atmosphere is honestly quite cozy – boxes for random stuff in a corner, Christmas lights hanging on the walls, posters for Japanese beers, and a very impressive liquor display behind the sushi bar. Server was very helpful in deciding what to order.

Food was absolutely delicious! I had the medium-fatty tuna, yellowtail, and salmon nigiris, along with a Cali roll, and inhaled it all despite not being super hungry…the salmon was especially delicious. Finished off with some black sesame gelato, and I was all set. One of my favorite meals during my time in Oahu. Price is in line with what you’d expect – think ~$30 before tip per person unless you want to mix and match nigiri, get dessert, so on.

Highly recommend!

We found this place after looking for a 4-star+ place for lunch after landing at the airport. While the dining room is pretty limited due to extremely reduced service staff (lunch reservations required, but we got lucky due to a cancellation). The food was excellent and service extremely friendly. Based on what we got, the tonkatsu was thick and juicy, tekka maki overflowing with fish, and the butterfish misoyaki was delicious. The chicken karaage was good, but not exceptional. Will definitely come back if we’re in the area again.

Reservation only for lunch. My husband asked the server if it would be ok since we didn’t know to have one. And she said it would be ok. Only 90min sitting time as well. We ordered 2 rolls 1 temaki and a combo teishoku. Everything was good. And food came out pretty quickly. We did come at the end of a lunch rush close to 2pm. Only gripe would be too much rice with the rolls. We ended up spending $80 for just 2 people. Which is a bit steep. But I get with the rising food costs and labor. I would go back.

This place is outdated and way over priced. Locals think its great, they don’t have a clue what true Japanses Customer service and cuisine is like. This establishment serves horrible quality sashimi, mediocre teshoku combos for super high pricing. The Chu toro I ordered was way over priced and grisle, through out the fish. The serving dishes were so old that I thought we were in a dive bar in Kalihi. The tables were some trash they found at a discount furniture store. Over cooked tempura with heavy grease. This place should consider a reboot or close. Not worth the money.

We loved the friendliness of the staff; even though we came in close to closing they were super friendly and offered us the full range of choices. We really appreciated that. The food was utterly beautiful in it’s presentation and was delicious as well. Thank you, Tadashi we will be returning.

Friend recommended this place to me. Brought my wife here for lunch. Service was friendly and fast. I order the Miso Butterfish and she ordered the Shrimp Tempura. Food was delicious! I only wished the portion was a little bigger.
