As I was wrapping up my soup, they suddenly came and banged their hand against my table, which shocked me as if they had essentially told me to get out. The incoming customers noticed this (also alarmed) and told me to take my time, but I felt so disturbed by this incident that I quickly finished to pay and leave.
Very very rude service and despite how I wanted to enjoy the place, I will not be returning here for pho again. Also because the pho was not very hot and the meat was mostly uncooked, which makes me wonder if they’re heating up the soup in the microwave instead of serving it fresh out of the pot.
Look elsewhere if you want better service + pho!
I turned up right when they opened, which was definitely the right call as the place filled up quickly and most seats were already taken. So if you don’t want to wait I would really recommend coming early.
The pho bo is simple but done so well. A rich, comforting broth, everything neatly put together, and the flavours all work together beautifully. No fuss, no trying too hard just a cosy little spot you will want to come back to whenever you are craving a warm, honest bowl of soup.
Got the Pho Dac Biet and the Bun Bo Hue.
The soups came out somewhat hot, but not very hot. Could sip instantly and didn’t need to cool down. Within a few minutes the soup was just kind of warm and not very enjoyable to eat.
Pho Dac biet is tasty but very sweet, too sweet for my tastes. It’s also quite fatty, and not the clearest broth. The cuts of beef were all delicious and plentiful and the brisket was cooked perfectly and sliced thick.
Bun Bo Hue is not very authentic, the flavor is lacking quite a lot. Doesn’t taste like BBH you get in Vietnam. But worst of all, the noodles were very short. They seemed all cut up. I’m not sure. Couldn’t pick up and slurp the noodles. Really disappointing and made eating the dish difficult. Quite a letdown since it was so highly recommended.
We decided to bring the rest home to heat up properly and enjoy to its max potential, but to go containers cost €1 each. I’ve never seen this before in Paris.
The food isn’t bad, but the fact that it was served barely hot and cooled down so quickly, and BBH noodles were chopped up, really took away from the experience.
We had some great food at reasonable prices and we experienced the service as very friendly 🙂
