The menu is extensive, and the drinks are just as impressive. The mango margarita with Tajín on the rim was a standout, along with the Tres Amigos and the Tropical Mezcal-Rita—super refreshing and well-balanced.
Every dish we tried was fresh, seasoned perfectly, and served hot. Highlights included:
Drinks:
* Mango Margarita with Tajín
* Tres Amigos
* Tropical Mezcal-Rita
Food:
* Nachos
* Tamales
* Chicken Empanadas
* Blackened Chicken Fajitas
* Birria Tacos
Overall, an incredible spot for great food, great drinks, and great vibes. Can’t wait to go back!
Good: This is one of those rare places where the Mexican tomato rice, the refried beans and the black beans are all vegetarian without any lard and chicken stock. I will say that the Mexican rice is fantastic and amongst the best that I’ve eaten. Very flavorful. The refried beans are also quite tasty though a little bit watery for my liking.
If you want something spicy and vegetarian, my suggestion is to splice two of the burritos. Take the seven layer dip burrito and replace the garlic aioli what’s the habanero salsa from the other burrito and sub the cheddar Jack cheese for the Mexican cheese blend. I would get rice on this plate just because it goes so well.
I would avoid the seven layer dip burrito by itself because I find it too bland and monotonous and I would definitely avoid the habanero pineapple avocado because there’s practically no kick in it and the pineapple takes over the flavor. The queso is downright criminal so don’t even bother with it. The next thing we tried was the the seven layer avocado entree which was just downright terrible. I don’t know what the chef was thinking after he concocted it.
The next is how this place is ridiculously expensive for both the corner of your food you get and the quality. Somehow they are getting away with charging $22 for the average burrito. And it’s not even that much better than what you get at Chipotle. But yes, there are some more variations in terms of sauces, cheeses and meats because again it is a full service restaurant. The sad part is for the price you’re paying, you can’t even expect any service. And I’m talking about the full-time waiters here, not the college students working.
This restaurant also does not list egg is an ingredient in some places and if you’re a vegetarian you’re better off asking about it specifically.
Now for my standard comments. Parking is easy if you do not mind paying for the garage around the corner. Not bad pricing and it’s one of my favorite garages. Good amount of seating indoors and the tables or booths are pretty comfortable. Location is well kept and clean.
We ordered both the chicken and beef quesadillas, and they were excellent flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The service was also top notch; fast, friendly, and attentive throughout the visit.
Everything about this spot hit the mark. Great food, good music, and solid service. Highly recommended if you’re in the area and looking for a fun place to grab some delicious Mexican eats.
