A great little find in Somerville, MA. We wanted to take our niece out to dinner and decided on Indian food. Dosas are part of South Indian cuisine, typically more spicy than other Indian foods. But the preparation also depends on which region of the South the food is representative of. The menu consists of typical Indian restaurant dishes as well as a Jain Menu. Jain menu typically is made without onions and garlic. We ordered three different types of dosas. The dosas were very big, 5 stars to the size of the platter!! I was not impressed with the taste of their chutneys though. Usually the coconut and tomato chutneys are very flavorful; these were bland and the tomato chutney was watery sauce, and not a typical tomato chutney representative of any region in the South. The Sambar ( lentil and vegetables dish that goes with the dosa) was also leaning towards bland. The upside of that is that if you can’t handle spice, this is the place for you and the downside, of course, is that if you’re going to this restaurant expecting a typical South Indian dosa meal, you’ll be happy with the dosa itself but may not be very happy with the accompaniments. I stand right in the middle. It was a good dosa dish overall. We ordered a take out pizza with a combination of two different Indian toppings, and were very pleased with the pizza. So 5 stars to the pizza. Overall, I would say it’s a good 4/5 star. Will have to try their other dishes and tweak my review accordingly.

The food was AMAZING! I ordered the Thali lunch- the portions were generous and there was so much variety. Everything was delicious seasoned so nicely. My friend got the Spring Dosa- it was huge and packed to the brim with veggies and potatoes. The price and value was well worth it. I will be back even though it’s out of my normal route.

This is one of the best restaurants in MA! The servers are attentive and nice. Food comes out FAST and piping hot!! The vegetables are so fresh. Food is super spicy and delicious!!! Make sure you have a free morning the next day . Some of the best food I’ve ever had.

Absolutely terrible experience. The restroom was disgustingly filthy, and the stench was so bad my wife almost vomited. Staff took ages to respond, and their solution was to offer her the men’s restroom instead. We stayed only because we were starving and had already ordered.
The food was just as awful: the pav bhaji was ridiculously spicy and full of masala, leaving my tongue with ulcers and causing nonstop burping all night. The rava sada dosa was undercooked and bland. Both of us ended up with severe stomach problems after eating here.
Avoid this place at all costs.

Wow!! Incredible food!! Definitely one of the best if not the best Indian food I’ve had in the Greater Boston Area. We got the paneer tikka masala with coconut rice and a cheese dosa to share and everything was absolutely delicious. The paneer tikka masala was so fragrant and flavorful and it was a perfect pairing with everything else we ordered. Dosas were definitely a lot bigger than I expected but it was a pleasant and welcome surprise. 10/10 recommend.

On first day of our Boston trip, we were searching for Indian restaurant and came across this Resturant. Had Roti and Dal and Panner item. Overall food was ok.

I absolutely love Indian food, but, having a nut allergy usually makes dining out at Indian places hard. If you have allergies Dosa n Curry has you covered. They seem pretty allergy aware especially if you check out their online menu. Got a few things this time but the veggie biryani was the show stopper for me. Complex flavors in a simple looking dish.

As far as service goes it was pretty good. Small ding because I had to flag down the waiter to bring me more water. But otherwise I was happy.

Can’t wait to come back and try more allergy friendly vegetarian food

Horrible experience!! We were there last week after hearing about this restaurant from a friend – really great review. But we were in for a surprise. The medu vada was hard and tasteless (reheated from freezer?), idly was salty and hard, and the masala dosa was so flavorless. Quite a disappointment. As a south Indian will not be going there ever again.

Dosa n Curry is certainly a “to go” place. I have had takeout and dine-in

I could easily have given 5 stars however I am picky. I ordered Masala Chai even before I ordered my dinner. However the chai was served along with my meal. In a perfect service model, the chai would have been served after my dinner or before bringing out my food. I had to rush myself otherwise the chai would have just gotten cold.

takeout: ordered Baigan (eggplant) Bharat and Dal (lentil) Makhni. Perfect in taste and the flavors were right on.

Dine-in: Peshwari Naan was good but lacked the right amount of nuts. A food cart in Portland, Oregon serves better Peshawari Naan.

8/13: this was my third Dosa n Curry visit in less than 10 days. The have a you can eat dosa buffet on Tuesdays.

FOOD: 5 types Dosas were just awesome! The masala inside the dosa was right on. You could taste the distinct flavors of each dosas stuffing. A+++ on the taste of the food. Mysore Masala, Paneer, temple dosa. All great choices.

Service: it’s a great idea to leave chutneys on the table. Make it presentable please.

It’s perfect to carb load if one plans to run a marathon on Wednesday

I understand the concept of not allowing take away, but my good went to waste as I barely finished half my food.

8/10:

Paneer Burji was right on. Flavorful and moist. I requested mild spice and yet the flavors still stood out.

The place is an happening restaurant. I would go back and be happy to try everything on their menu. I will go back and try their dosas next week.

This place was absolutely lovely! We tried the rava masala dosa, masala dosa, paneer chilli and paneer do pyaza. This is the closest taste to actual Indian food around and we loved it. The service was friendly and ambience was good.
The dosa texture was exactly as requested and the paneer do pyaza had a different taste than the usual makhani sauce in most restaurants in US.

Would definitely recommend.
