Went in on a Friday at 7pm. It was really busy. The setup inside is kind of weird. Like a cafeteria meets a doctors office. Our waitress you could tell was overwhelmed with tables, but she was friendly and VERY bubbly lol.
What we ordered:
– Bento box with sesame chicken and teriyaki salmon
– A mixed tempura
– Samurai Roll
– Hot Sake
– Sesame chicken was undercooked, and had no flavor or even salt really. It was not crispy as expected.
– Teriyaki salmon had a nice flavor, but it was also under seasoned. The teriyaki sauce as it were, was bland and watery.
– The gyozas were also, surprisingly underwhelming with little flavor. They also needed to be crispier.
– The mixed tempura was oily and also tasted like burnt oil. It obviously was old oil and more “deep fried” than anything. Not the technique you’d expect for it. Tempura should be light and crispy, not heavy and oily.
– Samurai Roll was good. The seared tuna was mild and flavorful. Spicy tuna was pretty good.
– Hot sake was decent. Hard to mess that up.
– The salad was meh
– Miso soup was simple and flavorful. Rice was rice.
All in all, none of the hot food (outside of the miso) was good. They really need to execute fried dishes better. And tweak their sauces. Feels like this place caters to a specific crowd of folks who don’t know any better.
Also, the menu prices online are less than what the menu in the restaurant. Kind of misleading there.
Another negative is one of the waiters was using a spray cleaner to clean tables and was spraying it into the air. Like cmon, don’t you realize how that’ll just travel to another table and food? Plus the bus cart they have to take dishes is filthy and an eye sore.
Curious about the Rare Tea they have also inside the place, but otherwise we won’t be back.
The sushi was quite tasty, however before we started eating, I went to wash my hands and was shocked by how dirty the restroom was. It completely ruined my appetite, and it took me a while to recover. Sorry, but I have to post it,maybe they will clean it.
We had uni flown in from Japan, fresh toro and salmon, scallops served a few different ways, seared wagyu beef, mushroom miso soup and several other dishes that I forgot.
Our friend, Bob, has owned this location for 4+ years. Omakase needs to be given 24 hours notice, so they can curate the best food options and vibes for your table and guests. For those that love fresh wasabi, a great place for that.
They also have a milk tea and matcha area, so a fun store to say the least!
There is a 10% discount for your first online delivery order.
The maki (roll), could use stronger flavor sushi rice imo.
Overall, a great spot and hopefully future Yelp elite events can happen here too!
The fish quality compares to restaurant in SF, so if you are missing high quality fish, be sure to stop by and ask for Bob!
I can see this as a regular spot to dine in or grab a to go order the family.
Ambience is spot on – good lighting, decorative walls, and a perfect backdrop to take your social media shot.
I’ll have to try their RareTea offering next time.
Do yourself a solid and go try it out.
The sushi itself was nothing short of phenomenal. Each piece was crafted with such care and precision, and the freshness of the ingredients was undeniable. I tried a variety of rolls, and every single one was bursting with flavor. The presentation was also stunning, almost too beautiful to eat!
One of the standout dishes was the chef’s special roll—it was a perfect balance of flavors and textures that left me wanting more. The sashimi practically melted in my mouth, and the portion sizes were generous.
Overall, Satori Sushi is hands down one of the best sushi spots I’ve ever been to. Whether you’re a sushi enthusiast or just looking to try something new, this place will not disappoint. Highly recommend!”
Would 100% come back once I’m in Sacramento again!
