If you are within 30 mins of this place and haven’t tried.. what are you doing? Everyone I know loves this place food is amazing everything Ive tried slaps. Best BBQ you can get around here perfect for when you don’t wanna spend the day over the grill. Ive called off work to come here before. My order – smoked wings (spicy), baked beans, mash n gravy and a roll 10/10

Stopped for dinner while on a road trip. I prefer family places over chains, and this place was good. Wings are lightly breaded, smoked, and flash fried. The potato salad is mayonnaise based, and VERY SWEET. The baked beans were sweet as well. Brisket was great, with a nice crust. The smoked sausage was local and good. The smoked chicken was awesome, definitely get that if you get a sampler. The ribs had a decent smoke flavor and crust, but were tougher than I’m used to-you had to really pull to get the meat off the bone. Mashed potatoes & gravy was good.

The sign outside drew my attention. I walked in and noticed the menu up in the back. The menu is simple to understand, I didn’t feel overwhelmed with the number of options. You will place your order and get a ticket number if you’re eating inside. If you place the order to go, they will bring it to you in the front. There’s a bar area if you go deeper inside. The customers and employees all had smiles, and the vibes here were very much positive. The food was delicious. Payment will be in the form of cash or credit card. They do ask for a tip, which is completely up to you. There’s no pressure to tip. The parking here is massive. there is nothing need to worry about finding any. I would come back here and do recommend it.

Werner’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que delivers authentic, mouthwatering barbecue with genuine hospitality and community spirit. Whether you’re stopping in for a hearty dinner, crafting a memorable family meal, or planning a catered event, this place checks all the boxes: quality, flavor, and a warm atmosphere that keeps people coming back.

Next time you’re in the area, stop by—order counter-style, settle in, and let the friendly team and delectable BBQ do the rest.

This place was an absolute ray of sunshine in the middle of nowhere, Ohio. If you know barbecue, you know how rare that is.

The barbecue was perfectly tender, full of flavor, and done right — no shortcuts. The homemade potato chips were flat-out out of this world, the kind you keep eating long after you’re full. Real Texas-style sweet tea made with actual sugar (yes, it matters), and a lineup of barbecue sauces that were all genuinely excellent — not just “there for looks.”

On top of that, the girls at the counter were incredibly sweet and welcoming, which just made the whole experience even better.

And here’s the real test: I’m from Texas, and I’m a barbecue snob. I don’t hand out compliments lightly. This place easily lands in my top ten barbecue spots across the country.

If you’re anywhere near Jeffersonville, Ohio, do not pass this place up. It’s the real deal.

I had about 15 restaurants to choose from for this road trip, and I chose to drive 8.5 hours to Werner’s Smokehouse on route to my destination.

Was it up to my expectations?
I have mixed feelings.

First off, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly, from the 2 young ladies manning the front, to the employees who bring your food order and clear your empty baskets.

Considering how long it took to get here, I wanted to try a lot of different things:

#1 Smoked Chicken Wings: Veeeeery good. Recommend for a starter.

#2 French Fries. Nothing special. Wouldn’t order it again. I had French fries from a BBQ spot in Dallas, and they were delicious. Was hoping for the same here.

#3 Fried Pickles!
HIGHLY recommend. Perfect balance of salty and sour.

#4 Brisket Burger.
Solid. Wasn’t great. But solid. Portion was on the smaller side, considering the price.

#5 Pulled Pork Sandwich
I’ve had pulled pork from many different merchants in many different states, but this was absolutely the worst. Super dry. No flavor. Really want my money back on this one.

#6 Smokehouse Wrap
Portion was phenomenal.
It was a bit bland in the first half of the wrap, but towards the 2nd half, there was a lot more flavor. I think this had to do with how the sauce was dispersed. If the flavor was consistent with each bite, I would order it again.

#7 Smokehouse Sundae.
Wow. Wow. Did I say wow?
Delicious. Fingerlicking good. I should have ordered more of this one instead of the pulled pork and fries.

#8 Mashed Potatoes and Gravy.
One word. Perfect. Couldn’t make it better.

If I had to return again, now I know what I would order, and I wouldn’t be wasting money nor tummy space.

Remember everyone.
Order the fried pickles. Smoked wings. And Smokehouse Sundae with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy.

I’ve added pictures of the menu as well.

A~~~~nd you’re welcome.

Good bbq! Only reason not 5 star is cause the brisket was a bit dry, Mac and cheese was good and wings also a bit dry !

Authentic smoked meats. Probably the best brisket I’ve had anywhere, and a smokey, sweet sauce. Great value – big portions for a great price. Fantastic, family-oriented service. My only dig is the side dishes are a bit pedestrian and don’t quite measure up to the main attraction, but don’t distract from it. Wish the meat wasn’t quite as good so I might actually get to try one of their awesome-looking desserts someday. We’ll drive 40 minutes just to grab a meal there.
