Mangiamo just opened 2 days ago. Wife and I arrived around 5pm and we’re able to get a table, but place was filling up.
1. Service was excellent. You could feel and see the pride and work ethic (something desperately missing in resturants) the staff had. Very interactive and helpful.
2. Everyone is still learning, but with only 2 days of business and where they are at, I know this place will be a mainstay….
3. We will be going back. We were very pleased with everything. Now the food.
Appetizer: Italian Meatballs – marinara sauce was excellent and meatballs were a little on the soggy side. While cooked through, they could have been a little more done.
Main: Chicken Alfredo and Casio Pepe with Shrimp. Chicken Alfredo was good but very very light garlic and butter. Was good but that was surprising. Casio Pepe was on spot but shrimp were over done.
Now, with all that. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO GET YOUR BOOTY OUT AND TRY IT. We will be going back….

We were super excited to try the food considering it is the only italian place nearby. We waited an hour and a half for our food, and when it came out we were pretty underwhelmed with it. My meal lacked flavor and overall looked like something a child would make while they were home alone. My husband’s steak was rare, purple, and cold. His pasta was also served cold. Service wasn’t too bad, but probably would t come out of my way to drive over here again.

We tried it. We went on day 3 of them being open. Our waitresses were amazing and food tastes great. It was super long wait and they unfortunately ran out of chicken for my chicken Alfredo so I get steak pesto. Took about hour and a half for us to get our food. I’m not upset we expected to wait due to obvious reasons it was a full house, we had no reservation, and three days being open. They’re still working out some tweaks so be patient with them. Overall though it was good. I wish we would’ve had a starter like bread or salad while we waited but you can always order an appetizer. I’ll post photos of the food we ordered and menu.

I wish I could review without giving stars because I do want to try it again, down the road, when maybe kinks are worked out.

We waited well over 2 hours, we came around 5:40 and left around 8:30, our plates costed $17.50 and $22. I’m happy to pay that price, but I was anticipating delicious, fresh, whole ingredient food. I ordered the chicken parm, my husband got the pesto steak. While the steak was cooked well and had good flavor, his noodles were cold and they looked suspiciously like the same bow tie pasta that you buy from the great value brand at Walmart. I was expecting my chicken parm to be fresh chicken breast that was pounded into a patty and breaded in the kitchen. No, I’m fairly certain it was Tyson chicken patties…

We ordered an appetizer that never came.

However, it is opening week and I’m hoping these are just kinks. The waitress was very kind and apologetic to the circumstances. She offered a free dessert for the wait and for the failed appetizer. We got the chocolate cheesecake and it was delicious.

Again, we would go back. I hope this is first week jitters and the issues smooth out.

Everything was so good. The meatballs were handmade and fantastic. The lasagna was excellent. It wasn’t a reheated slice of lasagna either. You could tell it was prepared fresh when I ordered it. The crumbled sausage inside and fresh mozzarella. Oh boy! Can’t wait to come back. I’d tell you about the canolis and the carrot cake but I’m too full to eat them yet!

The food tasted good but I definitely expected more fresh/from scratch food and this was definitely more ready-made, processed type of stuff. Service was great!

Had lunch last Saturday. The prosciutto bruschetta was good, Braised Beef over risotto very good, cannoli was good. Certainly will recommend it and cannot wait to go again.

We’ve visited twice now, and overall, the experience has been mixed. The appetizer we ordered was very good and set a positive tone for the meal. The restaurant’s advertising gives off an authentic, home-style Italian feel, which is what initially drew us in.

On our first visit (opening night), some of the main dishes didn’t quite meet expectations. The chicken parmesan seemed like it may have been a pre made patty, the lasagna was overcooked on top, and the Alfredo pasta was served a bit dry and could have used more sauce. We understood that it was opening night and that adjustments are common in the beginning.

Service was average. Our waiter wasn’t as attentive as others we observed, and we did have an issue with the bill that included two extra meals. It was corrected, though there wasn’t much explanation or apology.

We decided to give the restaurant another try, but unfortunately one of the chicken dishes was undercooked. While the situation was sorta addressed, it was still disappointing. It was more of a, there’s nothing we can do about it, response.

Overall, this place has potential and a solid concept. With more consistency in the kitchen and stronger attention to service, it could improve significantly. For now, it’s an average experience with room to grow.
