Food was not to my liking, or my 9 year old’s. Everything I tried just didn’t taste good or the texture was off besides the Chinese donuts, probably the best item on the buffet. Staff was friendly however, and the tables and seats were clean. Food areas as well. Didn’t use the restroom to rate cleanliness of that. If I had to choose any buffet in Syracuse, it would be Golden Corral. The last time I went to Flaming Grill, in late December 2024, it was subpar as far as the food but tasted better than today’s Thanksgiving visit to Empire.

Excellent buffet and affordable prices. The food is fresh and lots of variety. The staff and owner are nice and friendly. The restaurant is newly renovated, clean and luminous. Clean washrooms.

Love it here! It was worth the drive. The food was hot, fresh all the time, comfortable, clean seating, plenty of parking, I’ve been waiting for a Chinese buffet to open back up in the oneida/ new hartford, Rome area but they never will so we took a chance and it was everything we missed for so long!

Ivisited Empire Buffet, and it was an average experience overall. The variety of food was impressive, with plenty of options, but the quality was hit or miss. Some dishes were flavorful, while others felt overcooked or bland. The sushi was fresh, but the hot dishes could have used more seasoning. The staff was polite, and the restaurant was clean, but the atmosphere felt a bit rushed, especially during peak hours. It’s a good spot if you’re looking for a wide variety of food, but not the best choice if you’re after high-quality dining.

Large dining area, great service, food is 7/10 fresh and rarely looks like it’s been sitting for hours. Very attentive staff who are always coming out and checking the food. Sometimes they switch up some ingredients. For instance I love the baked spinach and cheese dish. More than a few times it seems their spinach was dark and brownish, long and very stringy. Other times it’s very green and bright and tastes like it was fresh spinach. I always leave full off one plate and some soup.

Good food, and amazing staff. The hostess seated us very quickly, and the waitress was so attentive! She quickly re-filled our drinks and took our plates. They were both so sweet. The food was great! It was very flavorful, and everything that was supposed to be warm was warm, and everything that was supposed to be cold was cold. I loved that they had ice cream. You don’t see that at many buffets anymore! It was also very clean. The tables, seats, silverware, and cups were spotless. The plates were still warm from coming out of the dishwasher when I went up to get my food. Overall, it’s a great buffet! They also sell beautiful earrings, claw clips, and watches at the front register.

Normally in the past this has been a highly recommended place to visit. However , the last few visits it’s been very questionable. I have high hopes that everything will return to 5 stars again. I’m hoping we caught them on a bad night the last few times as I’m a huge fan.

This is a tasty buffet, with lots of options. Everything I tried was good, and I thought the food tasted better than some of the non-buffet Asian restaurants in the area. Plenty of mains, sides, and dessert options. Service was quick, I never had to wait more than a few seconds for a staff member, they were all on top of their game. Well worth the money.

2/23/24 . Very busy dinner today. Empire has a very good verity to choose from. They have Hibachi grill also if u want something different. The sushi was fresh and delicious too. The price for the Buffet is 16.99 for dinner.
