This place is a very loud and busy Bar! We had been here about five years ago and really enjoyed the two for One burgers. This time we came on a weekend and were disappointed in the quality of the food. Not only was it served lukewarm, but but you could tell the meat was low quality. If we were to come back, we would just stick to drinks at the bar.

Amazing service, awesome drinks, I got a custom burger definitely on my list of top 5. Medium rare perfectly pink the Goat sauce was top-tier. Ghost pepper cheese was on point. I do wish the burger size was a little bigger but hey more room for that yummy chicken quesadilla!! The atmosphere was so nice brought my lady for a early valentines date! A must try burger bar for any foodie!!!

Our crew stopped in for drinks and to check out their extensive Christmas decorations. It was tree lighting day and in just minutes after opening it was packed. Yet we were able to get some space at the bar and the bartenders did an excellent job keeping up with the crowd. Nice craft beer selection.

Checked out The Goat restaurant/bar today for lunch and now I understand all the rave reviews. On a Wednesday afternoon, this place was hopping! Loud and lively atmosphere, very busy and this was the afternoon. Great drinks , food and atmosphere, I can only imagine what it’s like in the evening.

I stopped by The GOAT tonight, and honestly, the food was average at best. The bartenders, unfortunately, were not warm or friendly—no smiles, no engagement, and their attitude came across as robotic and almost rude.
That said, the Halloween décor was absolutely adorable, and the patrons were amazing—their energy and friendliness definitely saved the night for me.

If you’re looking for a high-energy, burger-forward spot with personality in downtown Portsmouth, then The GOAT is a strong pick. The mac & cheese is out of this world.Just make sure you are willing to wait. Wait time was over 45 mins on a Tuesday. But the wait was worth it.Super recommended.
