I finally made it to the spot everyone’s been posting about to try their famous chicharrón, and let’s just say social media might have done a little too much heavy lifting for this one.

While the aesthetic of the place is on point, the food didn’t quite live up to the “must-try” status. Here is the breakdown:

The Texture: Credit where it’s due. The crunch was legitimately impressive. It had that loud, satisfying snap you look for in a good fried pork skin.

The Flavor (or lack thereof): Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. The meat was surprisingly bland, lacking even a basic salt-and-pepper seasoning. It felt like they relied entirely on the fryer to do the work without any prior marinating.

The Grease Factor: It was overwhelmingly greasy. Instead of being succulent, it felt heavy and oil-slicked, leaving that unpleasant film on the roof of your mouth after just a few bites.

The Sauces: I was hoping the side sauces would save the day, but both the hot sauce and the garlic sauce were just as uninspired as the pork. The garlic sauce lacked that sharp, aromatic punch, and the hot sauce provided no heat or actual flavor depth.

This place is a classic case of Instagram overhyping a spot. It looks beautiful in a reel, but the taste profile is “missing something” essential, mainly salt and soul. If you’re going for the sound of the crunch alone, you’ll be happy; if you’re going for a delicious meal, you might want to keep driving.

I think we need to stop taking these Instagram food reviewers seriously wasn’t impressed I think alot of them are being paid or either there taste buds is not tasting the chicharron and the yaroa I give like a 4.1 rating it was ok I also bought the Arroz Moro I dont know if they heated it up ,Yuca hard and Tostones like the oil wasn’t hot when they thru the plantains in soaked in oil was really disappointed the pica pollo
The chicken is big but raw but this is not to put you guys down but to let you guys know what to work on for next time or for anyone else purchasing your food the prices are to high for the portions and quality if the quality was good wouldn’t mind the price but you guys don’t quality neither quantity and Uber eats be killing so we are pay alot more so please step it up

Today I visited Chicharrón y Chorizo, and let me just say — this spot brings the best of two worlds together beautifully. The fusion of Dominican and Colombian flavors is done with real care and soul. The chicharrón was incredible — juicy, savory, meaty, and seasoned just right. I paired it with yuca frita on the side, perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside.

I also ordered half of the baked chicken, and it was a standout. Super juicy, full of flavor, and cooked perfectly. You can tell they take pride in their seasoning and their craft in the kitchen.

If you appreciate authentic Latin flavors, this place is a must. I highly recommend Chicharrón y Chorizo — and trust me, I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

I ordered delivery via GrubHub and I was far from impressed.
Ordered 1/2 lb chicharron, large Dominican Sancho and Cuban. The chicharron was overcooked, dried out pork skin, barely any meat, just very hard dry skin. Cuban was wrapped only to be cut open exposing the inside and some fell out the sandwich into the bag. And finally the soup was cold… COLD. Not it sat for 30 minutes cold but more like was in the fridge and just beginning to warm up after sitting out in the heat. Corn cold, potato ice cold. So never again for me.

I was a little hesitant to go, thinking how different could this restaurant be from the others. I was amazed and pleasantly surprised. The chorizos are the beat i ever had in my life. The arepas reminded me of my grandmother’s arepas, the buñuelos are delicious, the chicharron is great. Nothing that i ate here disappointed me. The owner couple are warm and inviting and proud of the food they make and it really shows in the fantastic flavor. HIGHLY recommended
