Great time. Music was fun. Place is small but they have open area which in warmer weather will be great. Regulars were friendly and invited us to sit at their table. Staff was on top of it and we never had to wait long for our drinks or food. Definitely a fun hang out or date night place. Food was excellent. Not really for kids. We will be going back .

Loved the experience. Laid back atmosphere. Space is filled with bar tables and stools, with two lounge areas if you came to have a meal. They have Irish music playing in the background and memorabilia all over the walls. Guinness had a great foam and fish and chips had everything they are supposed to have. The best part was the check, which was very reasonable.

I love this place. If we want a place to hang where you feel comfortable and welcome, this is it. You may not know everyone – yet. But you’re welcome all the same. The owners are amazing people. Kevin is out front and makes his way around the pub interacting with patrons. He’s hilarious. Mary is usually working hard in the back but comes out as well – she’s lovely.

And the food? AWESOME! Listed on the menu is “That Damn Irish Taco.” It’s my understanding that they served this amazing corned beef and slaw taco at outdoor events prior to opening the brick and mortar pub because it was great to serve when they didn’t have a full kitchen. Mary didn’t plan to put in on the menu. It was so HUGELY popular, Mary conceded and serves it at The Pub, hence the name. And now you can get it with fried cod if you prefer.

The Dubliners (like Irish eggrolls) are so yum. I’ve had the Shepherds pie, Irish Stew and brown bread, Fish and Chips, Irish Coffee, perfectly poured Guinness, and an Irish Whiskey and Guinness drink (my fave that I can’t remember the name of) – all were fantastic!!

The servers work as a team so you are never in need of anything. They have the same vibe as the owners which is fun. It’s fun to watch them giving each other a good natured, hard time. These are people you can have a Guinness with.

Yes – Kevin and Mary are Irish and created an authentic Irish Pub. (The bathroom is even pretty, haha!) And they were awarded like seven “Best of Hood County” designations. But for me, it’s more than that. It’s a community of salt of the earth people. Highly recommend.

Awesome Irish Pub just off the square in beautiful Granbury, TX. Originally being from the Boston area, I love a great Irish Pub and McDonough’s qualifies! The food and beer are amazing, and don’t forget a shot of Jameson’s to wash it down.
The authentic Fish and Chips and Guinness Irish Stew are a must.
To finish, the staff and husband and wife team owners will make you feel at home as you tuck in to an awesome experience!

Wife and I stopped in this past Saturday night for dinner. Sat at the bar and greeted immediately by the bartender. Ordered the fish and chips and wife ordered the Ruben. Both meals were fantastic! Great atmosphere as well. Felt authentic. Looked like theres additional seating outback too but didnt explore it. Maybe next time, which will be soon.

we live 5 mins away. wanted to love it. BUT.,. margarita tasted like 95% sweet and sour. first time we went, we had good drinks and sat at the bar. 2nd time in was the problem that made us never come back, we stopped recommending the place.

the drinks were so weak we asked to pay for the current order, return them and order something stronger. they offered an old fashioned if we wanted to taste the alcohol… the sarcasm was loud. i stated that’s not what i wanted. i wanted the casamigo marg they had on the menu that wasn’t only sweet and sour mix.(which ive ordered before) they wouldn’t accommodate us. we asked for a new drink & to watch it be made, their offer: asked us to close out 5 mins after we walked in (2hours before close)

1/5 stars due to not being willing to remake the drink, also for lying about 2 shots being in the drink, and for saying that was the law. went down the street to the sports bar on the square, where they confirmed that’s not a law in the state, and made us our usual.

lost my business. would not recommend if you plan to get a mixed drink or if you want to avoid being lied to when a more then acceptable solution was offered.

I met my colleagues here for some food and drink. We loved the place. It’s a clean, intimate space with plenty of Irish pub-inspired decor.

I ordered the Proper Pot Pie, which was delicious. It came out quickly, the pastry was crispy, and the chicken and veg filling had good flavor. (Don’t forget to add some hot sauce to yours!) I also enjoyed my “Blacksmith” beer.

We will return very soon.
