We had a fantastic experience at Outback Steakhouse in Hoover, Alabama. From the moment we sat down, the service was outstanding. Our waiter, Preston, was phenomenal — attentive, friendly, and genuinely focused on making sure we had a great meal. The gentleman who brought our food was just as courteous, and the manager even came around to check on us, which really showed a commitment to customer care.
The food was excellent across the board. My 11-year-old daughter ordered the Aussie Fries (cheesy bacon fries), and between my girlfriend and me… we pretty much ate them all — I’ll admit I had the most, but everyone enjoyed them! She also had a 6 oz sirloin with two cups of fruit, plus a brownie with ice cream for dessert, and loved every bite.
My girlfriend had the grilled shrimp with cheesy broccoli and finished with cheesecake, while I went with the 8 oz sirloin, baked potato soup, mashed potatoes, and cheesecake. Everything was cooked well, flavorful, and served hot.
The restaurant itself looks like it’s been remodeled and modernized — clean, comfortable, and welcoming. This visit was my daughter’s idea, and we’re really glad we took her — we all had a great time.
Great food, exceptional service, and a very enjoyable atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area.

Our server Taylor M was absolutely awesome. She was great with my 11 year old very energetic son. She was also super patient with an elderly customer at the table near us, that was struggling with placing her order. She really made our experience nice. The food was terrific as always.

Decided to take myself on a date and this spot was perfect. My waitress was so attentive and that new cucumber mock drink was wonderful. I’ve made my similar version of it several times at home. On this day, it was quiet and relaxing.

Went for a small celebration and dinner special. Joseph was our server he did great forgot a few things but did well. As you can see the steak was charred on the outside and bloody red on the inside ( no pic) we all ordered medium well and got medium rare burnt. The lobster was good but we never received the dipping butter till the end . The salad was great. The place was very cold we couldn’t enjoy our food, the manager did assist with raising the temp . The coconut shrimp was good but over cooked.

First time dining at this location in years! Service was amazing! Chasity was great! Food was good even though we had to send the steak back for being overcooked. I ordered the Alice Springs Chicken with broccoli and a side of grilled shrimp with a wedge salad. We also ordered the Melbourne steak with fries. The dishes were served with two sides.

We should have looked at prior reviews for this location before choosing to eat here. Outside of getting our drinks a few moments after being seated and putting our order in, it took almost an hour to get our food. When it arrived, most was cold, and we had to request items that were ordered that we did not receive. Preparing the table to receive dinner wasn’t done. No check of condiments was done, which caused even more delay in food. At one point, I had to use the water pitcher to give us our own refills.
I have to assume there is a staffing issue considering that staff were on all sides of the restaurant and alerted us of many to go orders. Still, if that’s the case, they need to reconsider how they consider their seating. No considerations were given by the restaurant.

No wait to sit. This location was unusually slow for a Sunday. There appeared to be 2-3 servers including the bartender. There were also a couple of runners. The food was okay. The bloomin onion was overcooked on the edges but the inside was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Outback offers a 3 course meal which includes a salad and a side, an entree, and a cheesecake starting at $14.99. We chose the brownie sundae for an additional $3. The shrimp barbie was nicely seasoned. The burger was juicy and lightly seasoned. The breaded onions was a good choice. The salmon was okay. The service was initially interesting and a little slow in the beginning but overall, our server did well with 6+ tables. There was evidence of team work which we appreciated.

What what could have been better? Everything! The restaurant was not busy yet it took the hostess way too long to seat us. Although we were brought our menus right away and were able to order our drinks which was iced tea nobody came back to take her order for like 20 minutes and then I had to flag the waitress down to do so. We dined in on Sunday December 7, 2025. We ordered the Prime Rib. Our soft-spoken waiter, Josh, was very friendly and competent. He took our orders and served our drinks quickly. I loved the French Onion soup. The Prime Rib was perfectly seasoned and cooked. We will be back.
