Tonight was our first time visiting and when I say it was an incredible experience, I’m not exaggerating. The sushi was SINFUL. The meals were reasonably priced. The soup flavorful. Our server Nick was fantastic, we will now be regulars! Thank you for bringing this business to Wetumpka. ☺️

First time here since they opened and I am happy to say they did not disappoint. It’s not a big place but they did a great job remodeling the old building and it looks very nice, bright and inviting. We got there a little after 6 pm and we got seated right away but they were just about full up. Waitress was very nice, took our order and the food came out within 15 minutes if not sooner. I got the hibachi steak and chicken combination. It came with a ginger salad which was your typical Japanese ginger salad but tasty just the same. They fried rice, vegetables, steak and chicken were delicious and the portions were large. We each had enough leftovers for another full meal each. I would have to vote this restaurant addition to Wetumpka as one of the best the city has had in a while. It was reasonable on price for Japanese at dinner, costing about $23 a piece. This will definitely be a place I will visit again.

My experience at Yamato was fantastic to say the least.
My mother and I went in for my 28th birthday and was welcomed with a smile and caring attitude. Our waitress was nice, light hearted and informative. Our food arrived quick, hot, and delicious. I ordered the beef (cooked medium) lo mein, the Lion King roll, and mom ordered the chicken bento box. Everything was a treat to eat.
I highly recommend stopping by for some lunch or dinner.

I had ordered a Togo order for me and a couple coworkers. I got the steak and chicken hibachi. I ate the chicken and steak but when I got to the rice I moved it around to put yum yum sauce on it and I had a beetle in my rice. Called the restaurant they offered to remake the rice but not refund the money.

The staff was great and the food was delicious. This isn’t a place where there is hibachi show at your table, but you can see them cooking when you walk-in. We didn’t miss it.
The salads ginger dressing was my favorite! I have enough for 2 meals since my husband gave me his salad. I was telling my husband we needed a good Hibachi place in Wetumpka the week before they opened and was so excited to see the article a few days later. It was a funny coincidence. Tonight we finally decided to go and this place is dangerous to have so close. We will be back again!

We have ate dinner at Yamato several times and never had a bad experience until tonight. We ordered the same exact meal. Steak and chicken with rice. One bite of the chicken had an odd taste to it that resembled shrimp. We did not think much of it at the time. Within 30 minutes of eating the food we got sick and have been sick for the last several hours. The chicken and steak was cooked but we believe it was bad chicken. If you go eat there send your food back if it has an odd taste. We will never be back there after the experience tonight.

Just left! Food was great, but the service was cold and unfriendly. Entered and asked for seating at a booth as a party of 1. Hostess stated there were no booths until I pointed out a couple. Ordered the shrimp tempura and snow crab salad as an appetizer. Had the Alexander Roll as my entree. A more friendly atmosphere and wait staff (server was efficient, but barely greeted me) would put this restaurant over the top. Half booths and half tables along the wall are entirely too close together. Will definitely order again. Probably takeout.

This is another BAD Chinese restaurant. Here are two photos of rice with meat… the rice came in balls… and some small pieces of meat… poor presentation, tasteless, I don’t recommend it to ANYONE. Only the sweet tea was good… the menu is sparse. Bad… not recommended.
