This is an interesting bar in downtown State College because it’s right in the midst of everything (it is right next to the Gaff), but it has a very different vibe to it. It is attached to a nice restaurant so it is a more upscale casual than the super casual nature of the bars around it.
It is interesting to go there because they have traditional furniture and makes you feel like you’re in a place of some history. They make good cocktails, and this is a nice place to go if you’re looking to enjoy the nightlife downtown without rowdiness or blasting music. It is a good place for conversation and the candlelit tables feel very intimate. It is not a huge place which will also get swamped on big weekends like Arts Fest and Blue and White.

Terrible service, the bartenders clearly have something against anyone that looks like they are college aged. Asked for a glass of water for my friend and I and we got push back. Finally, grumpy old bald bartender gives us water straight from the tap instead of the soda gun like he would any other person at the bar. It looked absolutely disgusting.

A customary stop for my bride and me each time we visit State College, most recently this past week during parent’s weekend. Great atmosphere and service. Relaxing and nice wine too!

Wow if only zero stars was an option. As a Penn state alum, one of my favorite parts of football weekends is meeting up with friends. Due to the overwhelming number of people in town for the Pitt game, we thought, “Wow let’s just try Adams Apple.” In our minds, this place would be there least crowded and my oh my do I know why. The bartenders and bouncers are awful. I entered the establishment with six friends. Before we even ordered drinks, the bartender started discriminating against us. After reading some of the comments in regards to racism, I’m not shocked at what happened. The situation then escalated to the bartender asking every person that approached the bar if he/she was with “that group.” Because of how offended we were with how our friends were being treated, I approached a bouncer, asking to speak with a manager. He refused. I said “Then were just going to leave.” He said “Thank you you’re not welcome here.” Unbelievable. Avoid this place at all costs. No wonder no one ever comes here. Find me ANYWHERE ELSE in State College

The best Paloma I’ve ever had. The bartender was super friendly and the atmosphere is warm and classy. Would definitely recommend for a getaway from the typical State College college bar.

Very cozy spot to enjoy a drink! They sometimes have a real wood fire going, which adds very nicely to the overall aesthetic. Very friendly staff. I enjoy a Brandy Old Fashioned every time I visit and always leave happy

A classic tavern atmosphere with sophistication and style. Awesome menu and a fantastic selection of drinks, wine, and beer. The Original Sin is a staple of State College!

Racists!! The management does not want to attend to patrons of color. A friend of ours was asked to leave because he asked for Hennessy . Please beware before entering.
