Food was cooked to perfection. Just right perfectly seasoned, juicy medium rare Ribeye. The brisket was perfect juicy, BBQ sauce was just right not too sweet just right. The loaded potatoe wast perfect, sour cream, thick real pieces of bacon, chives, cheese and butter. The home cooked chillie was delicious. The peach cobbler was perfect not too sweet just right, not dry with vanilla bean ice cream on top.

After a couple of days being on the road eating fast food, We wanted and hardy, home cooked meal. We found Willow Ranch, it is like we hit a jack pot of restaurants. I will definitely drive out – 3 hours just for the food (peach cobbler) . Its worth the drive! Willow ranch was cozy welcoming, clean restaurant.
Shout out to Steven our server, he told us the history of the restaurant.

We were traveling back home from San Francisco. We wanted some good hot food, not another fast food place.

We were driving I noticed a sign that just said “Keep” I was like Keep what?? I thought the bottom of the sign fell off. A couple of miles later there was another wooden sign that said ” Hunger Away ” and then it clicked!!! It said out ” Keep hunger away!!” A couple of miles another wooden sign that said ” Willow Ranch 12 miles away.

So we drove over to Willow Ranch. The restaurant feels like cozy country and very welcoming. Oh boy let me tell you the food was amazing!!!

I got the brisket dinner, bake potatoe, garden salad and cornbread. The brisket was cooked perfectly and the bbq sauce was just right. Not too sweet, it was very flavorful. The bake potato was just like grandma would make them, sour cream, cheese, bacon bits, butter and chives. It was not dry it was delicious and I was happy it was after 4pm. ( they sever bake potatoes after 4pm) The salad was fresh and chrisp and the corn delicious not dry.

My husband got the ribeye steak dinner, mashed potatoes, dinner roll and dumpling soup. The steak was cooked to perfectly to his liking and very flavoring and I agree. The mashed potatoes were creamy, chunky and buttery. The soup was hot, creamy, thick and savory.

For dessert we got the homemade peach cobbler a la mode. It was moist, flavorful and not too sweet just right. To top it off the most creamy vanilla bean ice cream. It was just like how grandma made it when I was little.

We are definitely coming back here. Even
If we are not traveling up north. We will make the 2 hr drive from Orange County just to eat here.

Steak was absolutely amazing. We will get back to that.

My server was a sweetheart. Very nice and very attentive. She earned every penny of her tip and some.

The atmosphere was casual and calm. Very comforting.

Now back to the food.

The salad, which I forgot to photograph was great.

The Jalapeño Poppers were molten lava. If you get them, let them cool a few minutes. I blistered my lip with the cheese AFTER my server warned me.

Baked Potato, Beans and Dinner Roll were good.

The STEAK, oh my god, the STEAK.

One of the best tasting steaks I have ever had the pleasure of eating.

Not only was it cooked to perfection, the flavor was sublime.

I very highly recommend this place.

If you get the chance to try this place, please do! 🙂

Stopped in here to eat some food on our way back home from our vacation and wow – SO HAPPY that we did. I’m so glad we didn’t choose fast food in the area instead. This Restaurant served awesome ‘sandwiches’!

Got the Brisket Sandwich & the Tri-Tip sandwich with BBQ on the side. I went for onion rings and he went for fries.
BOTH side options are perfect. The onion rings were beer battered style and the fries were almost battered fried (but I don’t think that’s actually a thing). The roll was soft & perfect. Excellent mouth chew and the taste of everything was just a stellar experience.

My BBQ Brisket Sandwich was so juicy and delicious! The bbq sauce pairs perfectly (I should have bought a bottle to go!). If you’re a Tri-Tip fan, then you will really enjoy what the chefs delivered to the table, that’s for sure.

Was so happy with this linner experience and encourage you to stop in and give the menu a shot. If I’d had room, I’d have ordered dessert! Very happy with our meals. YUM!!

I hope that you have as enjoyable meal as we did on our way home from vacation. 🙂 What a great experience. Thank you chefs and waitstaff- you made the stop more than worthwhile, you made it memorable 🙂

It was alright. Nice servers, plenty of space, accessible bathrooms. Meh food.

The kids meals had a good amount of fruit, which is good. Kids tri tip was terribly overdone, but the quantity was OK. My brisket sandwich was below average – I didn’t see any evidence of it being BBQ (read: smoke ring) other than the presence of BBQ sauce. The potato salad here had olives in it, which is unusual and kind of interesting.

I was staying in Buttonwillow for the weekend and this place was so good I got dinner here on both nights. The smoked brisket was incredible and all the sides were perfect as well. Service was exceptional and everyone was so friendly. Also a great value for the price. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a delicious meal in Buttonwillow.

Had to try this place and BBQ lived up to reputation! Have to order the “The Plow Boy” Signature sandwich. House made BBQ Brisket, pastrami & bacon, monterrey jack cheese , jalapeño, house BBQ sauce(pretty good, too!) plus pickle wedge (could be better but at least it was somewhat crispy). Vegetable Soup of the Day a little on salty side, but tasty and lots of chunky veggies. You can tell it had been sitting out as altho veggies were on mushy side, you cud still taste each of them.

Prices are on the higher end, but food definitely good

This place is the real deal!!! Excellent service, delicious food, great atmosphere. I had the deep pit sandwich with fries and husband had the plow boy with onion rings, and we both had a salad. I had iced tea and husband had Dr. Pepper. Our food was cooked perfectly, especially the onion rings. Their home made bbq sauce is great – a little sweet and not too spicy. Fresh brewed tea was excellent. Salads had a very generous amount of dressing on the side. Our server was Pedro. He was very attentive without being bothersome. He didn’t write the orders down, and got everything correct!! He brought the check when we were done, and I was able to scan it with my phone and pay with no problems. I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes!!!
