After hearing Mr. Peabody and his boy Sherman rave about the chicken tacos from the El Vaqueros Taco Truck, I just had to go! Peabody told me he set his Wayback Machine to capture just that moment, and then again to when I was in the vicinity so he could tell me too. They were right, the tacos de pollo were Amazing!

Best place in town! The carnitas are epic, plus when you get the green sauce on it, then pour some of their hot sauce and a little lime…. oh its like eating what I grew up on in Oakland. So delicious! Oh, and the staff are awesome. Only place I really order food from at this point. Oh, and let’s not forget their chicken has so much flavor!

It was my first time in Oakdale, and this spot was a great choice for lunch. Even with a rush going on, the line moved quickly. The staff were nice and thanked us when we finished our meals. The food was delicious and was ready really quickly.

Normally, the food is delicious. I ordered berria tacos. I asked for them to be extra crispy. When I picked up my food, they informed me that they were out of the juice that you were supposed to dip the tacos in., which doesn’t make sense because aren’t you supposed to use the juice from the meat? I wish they had told me that before I placed my order because I would’ve ordered something else. When I got my tacos, they were mushy and disgusting. I couldn’t even finish them.

Was looking forward to a breakfast burrito and it was not what I expected. I ordered a chorizo & egg and a sausage & egg. The chorizo was great but not the sausage. Instead of sausage it had cut up hot dogs!! Just say you’re out of sausage dude! It was super gross

The food is amazing. I like that everything tastes really fresh, instead of that old food taste you get at other trucks. It is also really clean inside of the truck, so I feel safe eating there. Highly recommend it.

First time being able to get a taco truck since being back in Cali and can say I was truly disappointed. I always see people there so I thought it would be a good place. Not sure if we just had bad luck this time around. The service was great. The food came out really hot and fast. But I had ordered a super steak burrito with everything but no cilantro and it didn’t seem to have anything in it. There was no guacamole no salsa. The only thing I could really taste is old grease and oil… And I am somebody who normally eats basically everything. I took three bites and couldn’t even finish. I was so sad… all I wanted was a burrito…

This has the best tacos and burrito we have ever had. We got the el pastor burrito (California style), shrimp tacos, steak taco, and chicken quesadilla. All incredibly flavorful. Also very affordable. Atmosphere isn’t bad (nice spot to sit outside separate from the gas station). The only problem with this place is that it is so far from where we live (which is no fault of El Vaquero).

Had 2 reccomendactions on The Fish Tacos . $3.50 each, served like street Tacos, tasty. Will go back to try Quesadila Briasas, with the beef broth, dipping sauce.

Normally we love this truck and it’s our go to place for birria but the last visit on April 3rd wasn’t very good. Seemed thrown together and gave everyone stomach issues that night and into the next day…..we noticed it wasn’t the normal guy cooking so maybe that was the issue but we’re hoping next time we stop by it will be back to normal!
