HARVEYS LAKE — Damien’s on the Lake has been sold. Damien Kaye, who has owned the popular restaurant for 21 years, announced the sale Monday.

The location was very nice and we sat on the outside deck with the view to the lake. It was fun watching the motorboats and water skiers.
Our waitress did a good job, although she wasn’t as friendly as we are used to at similar establishments.
My chicken Caesar wrap was awesome and tasted SO good with lots of parmesan. The fries, which we ordered extra crispy, were amazingly good. You could tell the oil they were fried in was fresh. I would go back just to have those fries again. My husband had the Phillysteak wrap, but it was not so good. Neither of us liked it because it lacked flavor, had very little cheese and was so soupy that the wrap was sitting in the liquid and got gummy.
Regardless of the one not-so-good dish, we really liked the location and vibe and are looking forward to going again, hopefully when there’s live music, which I understand is a regular thing there.

Sunset on the lake with great food! Who could ask for anything more? French Onion soup was excellent. My wife was thrilled to find fried Grouper (also excellent!) north of Mason-Dixon line. And our server, Kat, was the best!

Food was excellent. Grouper was as good if not better than the grouper sandwiches in Florida. View on the deck was perfect and the entertainment wasn’t too loud and well suited for the dinner hour. Prices were on point.

Decided to try this place for Mother’s Day just for something different. Had a reservation at 3pm. Seated at table and offered drinks. Then 30 minutes went by with no server in sight. We asked and we’re told there was only one server. Why not maybe warn us before hand?!?! We had kids there that were hangry and had to hunt people down just for some bread. Finally received our entrees at 5pm. Absolutely unacceptable. For the price of the food, this place should be better than this. Definitely would not recommend.

absolute pleasure eating here. waiter was pleasant and personable and most importantly the food was amazing. Large portions with delicious flavor and perfectly cooked. My wife and I ordered Filet Mignon with different sides. what beautiful cuts of meat we received. No doubt our new gem in the back mountain.

I have served and bartended for 14 years and have never been so appalled by the service we received. Our visit started with our server greeting us saying “are you guys ordering because if not I’ll have you cash your drinks out with me and continue getting them at the bar”. Not a great start. It then took her over 30 minutes for her to come back and take our order. But that time we still didn’t have the second round of drinks. If you have ever worked in the service industry you know Full hands in full hands out. So not really she why she hasn’t worked harder or smarter….the wait staff was so lazy. I stood at the bar to grab my phone which was charging and I made direct eye contact with three people and not one of them asked if they could get me something. Not only that but they were busy doing anything for their customers they simply kept talking with each other. The poor service didn’t stop there. The appetizer of nachos we ordered must have sat in the window so long they turned into a slop like casserole and were still served to us. An hour and a half lasted and we still don’t have the food we ordered. We could barely get a refill on waters and had a waitress with a really terrible attitude. When we finally got our check we had communicated to our server the nachos simply had to be taken off the bill. When she came with the check she told the member who had agreed to pay for the bill that “she couldn’t find the manager to take the nachos off the bill…” common sense tells you I’m not returning to that table until I can get my manager to at a minimum take the nachos off but really I’d love to go the extra mile and see if we can do anything else for that table to help.
There was more terrible service in the middle. But quite frankly nobody would read this review if I made it any longer.
I will never ever recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely miserable.

The wolf pack Matticks
It was not a very good experience for our second time out from quarantine. The waiter and server did not wear masks and when asked gave a snotty answer that if we don’t like it then we did not have to come here to eat. Then one appetizer of breaded shrimp came out not cooked enough and a main course of a hamburger ordered medium well came out rare and for both things they did not even give us a discount of any sort. Do not recommend!
