We had a lovely dinner here at Russell House. Papradelle Bolognese was delicious! Caesar salad was fresh and well dressed. Pizzas were thin and crispy, although next time I’ll try one that is sauced.

I really enjoyed dishes here. We had calamari, salmon, fresh oysters, and steak. I liked calamari. The atmosphere was also nice. We had lunch this time, but I think it would be nice to have dinner with some beer.

This spot is seriously underrated — the vibes were a 10/10 across the board. Cozy, romantic, and right in the heart of Harvard Square.
Overall, I’d give the food a 9/10. The pasta was a bit chewy, but honestly I still appreciated the homemade quality and flavor. Everything else was spot-on and so delicious.
If you go, you have to try:
The tuna appetizer
The half-roasted chicken
Their homemade bucatini pasta
And definitely end the night with their chocolatey brownie dessert
Such a warm, delicious night out — can’t wait to go back!

In Boston for business…came for the dollar oysters and a cocktail and was not disappointed. They do post 9pm dollar oysters, and everything was fantastic. Tonight (Tuesday, February 2026) they had Peters point which I believe are Massachusetts local (not that you are an oyster nerd but whatever, just sayin) and they had a very nice flavor profile. Salinity is a bit strong; not overly salty but on the stronger side for sure. They were medium sized and slightly firm in texture. Not sweet but there’s a hint of sweetness on the back end. Their house cucumber mignonette actually was really creative and absolutely memorable. Not sure if they make a different style mignonette for different species of oysters but this Paired nicely with the Peters point. I sat at the bar because I am a loner with no friends that likes oysters but Sagine took great care of me which I appreciate the excellent service. She’s also very attractive ;). I ordered a “paper plane” which she made perfectly and now I may have a new “go-to” cocktail. Whenever I’m back in Cambridge, I’ll absolutely be back again.

Russell House Tavern is perfectly situated right in the middle of Harvard Square. The vibe here is great, with a nice two-story layout that feels welcoming and lively. My friend and I sat at the bar and found it to be the perfect spot for a casual meal and drinks.
We were greeted nicely and seated right away. Service was very fast—our menus and drinks came almost immediately. The food menu might be small, but it’s well-curated and perfect. We ordered a burger and a pizza; both were cooked nicely, delicious, and had great flavors.
We even managed to snag a table by the window, which was lovely for people-watching the busy city go by. I definitely recommend this place if you’re visiting Cambridge and want to stop for a quality bite.

My husband and I had such a wonderful experience at Russell House Tavern! We sat outside and really enjoyed the atmosphere—it was lively but still cozy. Our waiter was incredibly nice, attentive, and made us feel welcome right away.
The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the calamari and the Mushroom & Leek pizza, and both were outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We’ll definitely be coming back the next time we’re in Cambridge. Highly recommend!

It was very busy when we came in, and we were still seated right away, with friendly staff checking in at a quick pace. Both ordered the quinoa farro bowl with grilled chicken and loved it! Healthy, incredibly flavorful, and a perfect portion. Cozy vibes as well with plenty of screens to see the winter Olympics.

Stopped by this restaurant in Harvard Square on a Friday evening and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was lively with a great vibe, and they offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Despite it being busy and us not having a reservation, we were seated right away with no wait. Service was friendly and quick throughout our visit. The food was delicious — especially the calamari, burger, and pizza. The steak was just average, but overall this place is a solid option if you’re in Harvard Square and looking for good food in a fun setting.
