I absolutely love this location. It blows my mind that the reviews are under four stars. I’ve been here no less than 20 times, and I usually love the interactions with the employees. Good attitudes, very kind. I’m here on a Monday afternoon at 1:30 and both of the person who prepared my food, and the person who checked me out, we’re both next level kind and attentive.
The portions are good, and food quality is on car. This is my favorite café rio location.

I can honestly say I have not had food or service this bad in a long time. This lady in the picture hates her job and it’s obvious. She was obviously very put-out when I asked for red sauce, then I asked her for sour cream and she hurried and slid my bowl all the way down the counter so I couldn’t ask for Pico or anything else. I only got probably two bites of sweet pork, acting like to go bankrupt giving me at least my money’s worth. And then she threw a boatload of lettuce on my quesadilla that I didn’t want, then I asked for rice….with a great amount of attitude grabbed the lettuce off my bowl and threw it back on the line. This guy over by the drive-thru window kept staring at me like he wanted to kick my ass or he wanted my phone number…. I couldn’t get any horchata because obviously as you can see all empty. There’s got to be numerous health code violations with them dumping hot bags of new food on top of stale crusty dried nasty stuff that’s been sitting in those crusty heated bowls on the food line for hours …. Bottom line is, this place is GARBAGE. From the food, to the service and the cleanliness. I won’t ever be to any Cafe Rio ever again.

I love cafe Rio, let me start with that. I come here often for lunch, and I typically just get a kids meal since I don’t eat a lot of food. I’m also not one to write reviews but I am just concerned. There has been 3 times I’ve ordered a kids meal, and have had bones inside the quesadilla. They’re small enough for a child to choke on. I almost choked on the first one, and thank goodness I check my meals for them since. I understand that meat and bones, yes, but for this to have happened 3 times, in a kids meal?! I’m just thankful these bones didn’t end up in a small child’s meal and rather ended up in mine. Right on top too, where staff could notice and toss it out. I’ve attached a photo of the most recent time. All I’m saying is maybe take more care when putting these together. The kids portions are tiny, and a bone like this is very noticeable. Not only that could be an injury/lawsuit waiting to happen. Especially in a small child’s meal.

They have yet to disappoint & Even if there ever has been an issue, Their customer service department is phenomenal at resolving it. From their Nachos to their Salads, Everything is delish!

I waited 1.5 hours for an online order today before finally canceling and going elsewhere. Looking at recent reviews, it’s clear that I’m not alone. The inability to manage online orders seems to be a recurring theme. For the sake of your reputation and your customers’ time, I strongly suggest pausing these services until your kitchen can handle the volume. It would be far better to focus on quality in-person service than to continue failing on the digital front

Cafe Rio is so mid. I’ve gone a handful of times over the years and each time that I’m ready to try it again, it’s because I’ve forgotten what I didn’t like about it. The tortillas are good, the cilantro thing is good, the horchata is good, that’s about it. I don’t have a problem with a lot of sauce, but everything is just too wet, like soggy and watery. The flavors are not great either, and don’t get me started on all the unnecessary sugar added to the meats and such. If I want Mexican food I would go just about anywhere else, hell, even Costa Vida does the fake mexican food thing better. If you want overrated and overhyped Utah food, come here. As for the service, it was just okay. As someone who doesn’t eat here often, it was hard to know what was going on with my plate and the employees rushed through my order before I could ask for much of anything specific, one lady in particular seemed pretty sour and slid my plate down to the end to the cashier before I could ask for anything else on my plate.

This café río is the best! Their customer service is amazing! Customer experience is priority. My high school daughter ordered her lunch salad at the wrong time and they helped us out by making it for her so that she could have a lunch. Big thanks and shout out to Laticia! So very understanding!

I LOVE Cafe Rio don’t get me wrong, BUT the last 4 times we’ve ordered to go here our orders have been completely wrong. Tonight we order and waited an hour after our order pick up time and everything was out. Not offered a refund, complimentary drink, nothing. I rarely complain because I understand the food industry sometimes has uncontrollable problems but this one took the cake and I’m no longer spending money here.

I had a great experience at the Cafe Rio in Bountiful! The food was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you’d hope for from their menu—especially the sweet pork burrito, which was delicious. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the visit feel welcoming. Overall, a great spot for a tasty meal with a warm atmosphere.

I really don’t know what happened to customer service but it’s really dead these days. I ordered a mobile order showed up 10 minutes after it said it was due remind you it said it would be due or ready in 20 minutes so I showed up 30 minutes later and they told me when I went through the drive-through that I still had to wait 10 minutes. I proceeded to watch them help new Customers order things in the drive-through and get their orders out before mine. I thought it was first come first serve in this world, but I guess I’m wrong. I would not recommend going to this Cafe Rio. The service is not good at all.
