A warm, intimate dinner date. The ambiance was beautiful. Soft music, dim lit, and golden decor.

Server, Macy was very polite and inviting. She explained the menu well and made wonderful recommendations.

The Bang Bang Broccoli was so delicious. Lightly fried and seasoned well, topped with an amazing sauce. The Crispy Rice was equally delicious, with a kick of spice, as well as being unique.

Had an amazing Dragon Roll, Bak Choy, Chick’n Fried Mushrooms, Beef and Broccoli and Chilli Crab Noodles. The noodles were spicy, nutty, steaming hot ♨️. Finished off with an ice cream scooped, peanut topped brownie.

Will be back for sure!

We came to this restaurant while visiting Chicago. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous with a lovely, ambient atmosphere. Service was a bit slow but in all fairness they were busy and it was completely understandable. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The presentation of the food was beautiful, as well as the flavors etc. This is a great place for vegans and non-vegans alike and was a highlight of my trip. Parking garage nearby. Highly recommend!!

Planta Queen is a great option in Chicago if you’re looking for a fun night out with creative food that happens to be fully vegan.

What really stood out was how approachable the menu felt. As a vegetarian, there are so many pan-Asian dishes—like sushi, dumplings, noodles, and burgers—that you usually skip because they’re meat-based. Here, you can actually order freely without second-guessing anything. The vegan nigiri was a highlight and surprisingly satisfying.

The cocktails are well done and make this an easy pick for date nights or celebrations. The overall vibe is lively without being overwhelming, and it works well for both couples and groups.

One added bonus is that this is a great place to use Amex dining credit through Resy, which makes repeat visits or frequent celebrations feel a bit easier on the wallet.

Overall, Planta Queen is a solid choice for anyone looking for a modern, fun, plant-based dining experience in Chicago—even if you’re not strictly vegan.

Absolutely delicious at the time but we are new to vegan cuisine and had CRAZY bloating and gas the rest of the night. We got the crispy gyoza, volcano roll, and brussel sprouts. Think there was maybe even a bit too much sauce. All in all the flavors were there. Matcha cheesecake was very good.

Our first night in Chicago
We decided to try Planta for the first time. As a vegan family, we try to patronize % vegan restaurants. At this location, we had the best time and experience. The manager, who I wish we remembered her name was top tier with her hospitality. We tried a variety of of food since we are a family of 5 and tried each other’s order.
What we got:
Hand Roll Spicy Tuna
Miso Soup
Crispy Gyoza
‍ Chick’n Fried Mushrooms
Ramen Chili Crunch
Chili Crab Noodles
Truffle Fried Rice
Lych Please
can’t remember

Our favorite (all 5 of us) were the Spicy Tuna Roll, Chik’n Fried Mushrooms, and the Truffle Fried Rice.

Everything was amazing! We planned to go for the late night happy hour and our server told us all the sushi was $9. What a nice treat. They recommended the eggplant nigiri, and the other photo is the volcano and firecracker roll. Excellent service, knowledgeable staff, and good vibes. My friend was obsessed with the Korean chicken sandwich.

What a fantastic place! We went three times during our long weekend in Chicago and every time was perfect and special! The food is stunning, absolutely delicious and beautifully presented! The atmosphere was great both during dinner and brunch. The service was amazing, very attentive, and Tre was especially nice and gave us recommendations for what to try and made us feel really welcome! The Spicy Tuna Roll was excellent and my favourite, but really everything we tried was so good. Highly recommended! Please open a branch in London, UK now!!

I came here for my birthday. Very cute restaurant. Fun music, dimly lit, and very close seating. The food was really good. The portions are made for you to share, but you could eat it all for yourself if you really wanted to. I believe our servers name was Victor and he was very polite. Also the bathrooms are very boutique looking and make for cute photos. I made a reservation so I didn’t have to wait in line.

Highly recommended. While my hometown has a few options for vegan sushi, this combination Korean and Japanese menu is substantially broader, with enough variety to give me pause as an individual wanting to try multiple items. The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about the food. I ended up trying a Sake To Me cocktail, which was pleasantly tart, the Spicy Crab and Crispy Mushroom hand rolls, and the Crispy Rice. The latter was the staff suggestion, and for good reason. The watermelon ahi that is used in multiple menu items is truly excellent. I opted to try one of the desserts and I will say that it was good, but the savory items are clearly the draw; I wouldn’t make an effort to save room for dessert here. The setting is bright and urban, and feels spacious, on ground level with large windows looking straight out onto a high foot traffic intersection. There is a combination of curved, cushy booths and freestanding table-chair setups, along with a small bar. The restrooms are ADA accessible.

We’ve been here twice and the food does not disappoint. Creative dishes, beautiful plating and delicious bites. We’re we’re amazed at the stacked potatoes. Simple but the caviar creation was mind blowing. A new stop for us when in the city. Our first taste of Chunk steak has us wondering if it was real. Delicious food.
