I went here yesterday. I had not been here in a long while. Surprise (new owners) I knew immediately as the menu was different. It used to be owned by a Greek couple and the food was always delicious. Not this trip, I ordered Broiled crab bites Broiled salmon bites. I. 99pct sure they were fried. Dried out. The wings were ok but lacked seasoning. The nachos were pretty decent. Just not good bites. Disappointing for sure. Plenty of seating. Don’t think I would wanna try anything else though. The menu really could use help & seasoning. Our server was fine.

0/10 Do not recommend. They only got 1 star because the sauce that came with the eggrolls was bussing but everything else was horrible. We received grease w/ a side of cheesesteak egg rolls, mussels tasted like air, chicken tasted like it was from last night and it got dipped back in the grease before it hit our plate and the fries were soggy. Our waitress Smurf ( what she said her name was but Nylah on the receipt) was more worried about reapplying her lipstick then handing us napkins to soak up all the grease she served us. We couldnt even find her to pay the bill, we had to ask another nice young lady and she didn’t even know someone name Smurf worked there. Now onto the drinks. My first margarita was good, my friends lemon drop was ok. So we decided to get two more margaritas. They came out sweet as Kool aid, barely any tequila. I asked can we have them remade. Smurf takes them back and and disappears for 15 mins and pops up and say you guys didn’t want them remade did you ? We say yes and she says the bartender says he not remaking them because that would be wasting liquor, we asked so is he going to give those drinks to another patron ? She said no they’ll likely be thrown away. We said ok so wasted? She says he doesn’t want to make another drink and then we don’t like those either, so that’s liquor wasted. We said he didn’t have to remake them just add a little more tequila. She says ok I’ll ask and takes the drinks. We watch him not do anything to the drinks and eventually Smurf comes back out with the same drinks. Not wanting to cause a fuss we just take the same drinks because clearly the Bartender who had his locs attached to his dirty fit-it cap is not budging. All in all it was a mess. Air conditioner was leaking into the tables were patrons we eating and all. Again 0/10.

I used to go here in my twenties all the time and I always had a good time I thought the food was pretty good I never really had complaints and I would go when they would have live music and it was just wonderful. Hadn’t eaten here in a long time. So I don’t know how the service or atmosphere is now but it was always good. I ordered a lobster bisque from another restaurant that’s supposed to specialize in seafood and it was garbage. I took a risk to order the cream of crab from City View. And boy was it worth it! First in foremost it was the right thickness flavorful. Now I did add a little bit of salt however I think that they seasoned it as they should have, it gave me room to add a little extra if one needed it. The best part for me that they put so much crab meat in there that every bite was a mouthful of crab meat and I don’t know if it was a fluke or that’s how they always serve it but I’m definitely going to try ordering again soon the only thing is is that I thought the container was rather small for a bowl of soup. I felt like I paid $10 for a cup of soup

Came here on a Wednesday evening for my mom’s birthday. It’s happy hour all day! The food was delicious, the drinks were good, and the DJ was on point! We had a wonderful time. It was a party of 12, and we were seated right away. City View is always a vibe!

2. Drinking cups are stained and unsightly.
3. The food arrived quickly, and tasted pretty good. However we had to search for our server to pay the bill. As a side note, they had the gall to add gratuity to our bill. Which was too bad because I usually tip more.
4. The prices weren’t bad. All in all its kind of sad because one can see that City View Bar & Grill was a swanky place in its hay day.

I really like City View — the food and drinks are usually on point. Service was a bit slow for a Saturday, but the real issue for me was safety. I wish they would at a review catagory for safety as it would be a 1 star.
While we were there last night, a gun went off inside the bar. At first, we thought it was part of a song until we saw people ducking and running for cover — that’s when we hit the floor too. We stayed under the tables near the back wall until security said it was safe to leave. Even then I was concerned for our safely leaving. Could the shooter be outside now. SMH
Apparently, a woman dropped her gun by accident, but honestly, I’m not sure I believe that. Someone was hurt but is expected to be okay. They did catch the person involved. I believe security handled it good or to the best of their ability without having weapons themselves. They made sure that those of us crouched down in hiding were ok and not hurt.
As much as I enjoy City View, I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon unless they really step up security — though I get it’s hard for a restaurant to pat everyone down. It’s scary that just going out for food and drinks can turn dangerous so quickly.
It’s a nice spot, but be careful and stay aware. Unfortunately, even the best places aren’t always safe anymore. Visit City View AT YOUR OWN RISK… This left such a bad taste in my mouth… especially since I like this bar.

My 5th Sunday in a row at Cityview, and I finally had to write a review. I keep coming here, because the happy hour all day Sunday is the BEST you are going to get anywhere in the city or county. I have a good time just about every single time, and almost feel the need to not miss a Sunday. Between the food, vibe, drinks and service, it’s always a missle. My new favorite spot, be sure to ask for Bird.
