N/Soto was truly a night to remember. This was a RESY booking with the intent of taking advantage of AMEX perks, and while we originally planned on just a few bites, the food was so good that we ended up ordering far more than expected. Our bill came out to over $220 before tip, and honestly, it was easy to see how we got there.

We ordered a wide range of dishes, including the house-made tofu, Brussels sprouts and salmon skin salad, snow crab monaka, tori negi, saba kushiyaki, Mt. Fuji nigiri, flounder sashimi, king crab hand roll, and black cod tempura.

There were some real standouts. The house-made tofu was silky and delicate, and the salmon skin and Brussels sprout salad was one of our favorites of the night — perfectly balanced with great texture and flavor. The tori negi and saba kushiyaki were cooked beautifully, and the Mt. Fuji nigiri and flounder sashimi showcased excellent fish quality and restraint.

That said, not everything landed. The snow crab monaka came on a rice cracker that tasted noticeably stale to us. It may have been intentional, but the texture took away from the dish rather than enhancing it. The biggest disappointment, however, was the king crab hand roll. Our general rule is simple: do not pair mayo with luxurious ingredients. In this case, the mayo completely masked the delicate sweetness of the crab and dulled what should have been a highlight dish.

Even with a few missteps, the overall execution, creativity, and depth of the menu made this a memorable experience. N/Soto is a place where it’s very easy to over-order — and mostly worth it.

N/Soto has a ton of really experimental sushi which is exactly what I was looking for. Their raw section had some good and some bad, like the scallop which was too intense on overpowering.

Their drinks were great and they had a lot of interesting cooked items with some great quality fish. Overall I really enjoyed the food and experience, but there were a few misses for our group.

I wouldn’t let that deter you. It is definitely worth trying out.

Looked for a quiet restaurant and checked out n/soto. Sometimes creative sushi and sashimi is not a good thing. n/soto delivered elevated sushi, sashimi, hand rolls along with stand out casual and prompt service.

Our service person, Nicole, delivered a well detailed explanation of favz from the menu. The patio was a great space. I look forward to dining indoors in the future.

Great decor and table layout.

A nice review is unnecessary given that n/soto was fully booked.

One of my favorite places, everything they do is well executed, and the staff are equally kind and personable. My last experience in particular where I ate at the bar was oddly especially warm and welcoming, where I got to chat with a really cool staff member named Reed, who apparently not only makes the drinks, but bakes delicious cookies they currently serve with one of their cocktails (The Hot Toddy, if you’re curious).

It’s also some of the best tongue meet (on the Skewers section) that I’ve ever had; if you’re a fan, I highly recommend getting one of those at minimum!

Absolutely loved this place. We ate at the bar and the bartender was amazing. He was friendly, helpful and made sure we ordered exactly the right amount of food. His cocktails were perfect, like a wizard dishing out magic (I had a second cocktail which I rarely do ☺️). The food was equally good. The home made tofu melted in your mouth. The tuna, uni appetizer was delicate with a dash of wasabi. The heirloom tomato salad was fresh, succulent, and delicious. The jidori chicken was so flavorful. Overall it was a perfect meal. Thank you

Wonderful spot for a date night for real foodies. It’s a casual setting with good service and elevated food that is delicious and also a bit surprising. We loved everything we ate and would definitely go back. It’s a nice change of scenery from a traditional sushi restaurant.

I wanted to have a good meal Reward yourself after passing the mid-term exam As a result, I have never eaten such a terrible roasted bird restaurant. Environment 80 points fine dining. Picture 2 is grilled beef tongue (medium tenderness + sour and salty sauce). Picture 3 Grilled Chicken Legs (Mediocre and with the same sauce as beef tongue) The first time I ate roasted bird was the sour sauce! ! ! It tastes much worse than New York and other places! Figure 4 Sea urchin + scallop + tuna is okay Picture 5: The king salmon not good. It feels like the salmon from a takeaway shop. The hand roll is like the hand roll sold by 7-11 or FamilyMart.

The food is phenomenal. We got reservations for 2 at the bar 3 weeks in advance. The bar seating was great, had a nice time chatting with the bartenders and other customers. We ordered 5 dishes per person and we enjoyed everything we got!

Some dishes that stood out:
1. Tripe kushiyaki—this was my favorite, it was so tender and flavorful. I never had tripe prepared like this, it didn’t taste like tripe at all.
2. Raw oysters—the jello was bright and made this common dish so unique
3. Chicken meatball skewer—it’s a big piece and was very juicy
4. Mushroom kushiyaki—the sauce was everything
5. Miso bone marrow—super rich and was so tasty with the rice

Parking:
They have valet for $12 (cash or venmo)

Excellent food and drink, friendly and warm people. The tofu, spring pea salad, and agemono dishes were our favorites; the gyutan was also amazing.

Definitely make a reservation.

Great experience overall, our top favorites are the warm house made tofu, the lamb chop, pork belly and shiitake mushroom skewer!! The chef’s selection sashimi, toro nigiri, the miso baked bone marrow, agedashi mochi, and the mixed mushroom donabe. We sat at the bar and our waiter was very helpful and attentive.
