An amazing experience! The restaurant is beautiful, the staff is very friendly. Our waiter was very helpful, fun, friendly and explained everything so well, also very attentive. We went for the early dinner, you will get a complementary tortilla chips with guacamole – tested great! You can order à la carte or choose a menu with price p.p. We chose the chefs choice and paid 44€ p.p. – the amount and quality of food for that price was amazing. Can highly recommend! We had 4 starters, 2 mains and one dessert to share (we were two people). More than enough food, we were very full and satisfied. Tastewise it was exceptional! Loved everything. We also ordered cocktails, first a non alcoholic one – I think it was called Paloma spritz, very delicious and well made. Same for the alcoholic one – frozen seniorita- very delicious! At the reservation we needed to pay 10€ pp deposit which was automatically deducted from the bill – everything went smooth.
If you want to treat yourself to a fantastic dinner you should visit Madre!

This cozy vegan spot is a must-visit, but be sure to book a table in advance. We had a great time and loved the food!
The guacamole was fresh, and the cauliflower wings were perfectly fried. You have to try their salsas—the hot one is amazing. For the main course, our favorites were the Papa al Pastor tostada and the Baja taco. The mushroom carnitas, birria, and artichoke tacos were also unique and tasty. We finished with the Mole Rosa dessert, which was delicious.
It’s definitely a fun place to try out!

Fully vegetarian mexican cuisine! Original and well crafted dishes and delicious flavours!
It is very expensive which is why it’s only 4 stars, portions are small.

As someone who has been a vegetarian for 11 years, I can confirm that Madre is a top tier plant based experience. We did the Madre menu and enjoyed every second of it, the atmosphere was great and the margaritas were fueeeeego !! It is pricy, yes, but it’s for sure worth trying at least once and the amount of food was good 🙂
The flavours were very interesting, plates looked cool and the food had some nice spicyness. The service was also attentive and felt very professional. Narea did an amazing job guiding us and explaining everything in Spanish, which I immensely appreciated! Muchas gracias <3
As some constructive feedback coming from someone that works in a restaurant as well, the kitchen brought the dishes too close to each other, which didn’t really made much sense. At the end it was ok but it felt a little bit pushy, something easily avoidable. We would’ve preferred a slower pace. We also felt that some of the waiters gave great and lively explanations of the dishes while others barely did the effort to tell us what they were bringing to the table. Considering that we didn’t had the menu in the table and didn’t memorised the dishes, it would’ve been nice to have better explanations. For the money you’re paying you expect these things. But these are small details, the experience was awesome anyway.

We were in a bit of a rush unfortunately and I feel like we couldn’t enjoy as much as we could due to keeping an eye on the clock. Highly recommended. I heard many times about Madre but somehow I didn’t have a chance to go until yesterday and it was great! I love the concept of trying to do vegetarian Mexican food. It is not authentic Mexican food but it is tasty and overal the ingredients are good.
The drinks are also good, again, they don’t use the best tequilas or mezcal’s but the quality and presentation is good.
The desserts were ok, the ‘tres leches’ was not really what I expected, it was tasty but it was not a “tres leches”. No complains just a bit of misused of words/dishes.

We had no idea it was a vegan restaurant, and to our surprise (being a group of 7) instead of a menu, they told us they recommended ordering the chef’s selection to try several dishes.
We agreed, and although we asked, the waiter didn’t tell us what the 5-course menu included, but insisted we should order it to “speed up the kitchen”… Even so, we spent two and a half hours eating. I feel that if we had ordered individual dishes, we would have eaten faster and also realized earlier that it was a vegan place.
After preparing the guacamole, the waiter spilled half of it on the table and instead of making a bit more, he scooped it up and put it back in the bowl… It felt unhygienic and not pleasant at all.
The food overall wasn’t bad, although the beet dish was far too spicy for my taste.

I went for brunch on a Saturday. The place looks really cute, I definitely loved the atmosphere.
The food was refined and flavourful. I also had the mezcal margarita, fresh and smoky! I would definitely recommend.
The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived (around 12.15). It got a bit busier through the lunch but I would say you don’t need to make a reservation around that time.

Had a superb meal at Madre—honestly felt like being transported to Mexico City right in the heart of Amsterdam. The food was vibrant, flavorful, and actually spicy for a change, which was such a treat. Their spicy salsa was incredible and packed the perfect punch.
We tried the sikil pak, cauliflower wings, camote salsa macha, tempura mushroom tacos, and the birria quesatacos. The birria quesatacos were just okay, but everything else was absolutely fantastic. The flavors were bold, fresh, and beautifully done.
Highly recommend Madre for anyone looking for delicious vegetarian options and authentic-feeling Mexican food in Amsterdam!
