Set in a landmark 1873 building, this buzzing bar is known for its hot dogs, craft beer & cocktails.

Nice AI drink menu. The logos are pretty funny. Were you established 1933, 1935, or 1959 because none of the dates match in the different AI generated logos used on this menu. Also the tagline under the logo for Happy Hour says “Ies Cold Beel: Good Food”. Maybe hire a real person to do these instead of ChatGPT?

This place had the same feel as it did before they rebuilt it after the fire.
They still have extremely friendly staff, great booths to sit in that are extremely roomy.
Great food and drinks.
My favorite is still their spicy cheeseballs.

Best hot dogs in West Michigan? Unfortunately the star of of the show was underwhelming. I am completely confused by my experience at the Corner Bar after reading all the hype about the hot dogs. Great atmosphere, friendly and prompt service and the hot dog toppings where awesome (kraut, chili, steamed buns). BUT the actual hot dogs did not hold up to the hype.. They were skinless, mushy and small. They need to use a good natural casing hot dog. I would gladly pay a premium for the upgrade, because everything else was awesome.

The atmosphere here really steps into it’s hot dog challenge. The walls are stacked with plaques to people getting the minimum 12 or greater. The building is an older building, but it has nice big windows giving it a bright and airy feeling.
I order the Bacon Cheddar Dog Basket ($12). This is two Corner Bar Dogs smothered with chili sauce and piled high with freshly shredded cheddar cheese and a hickory smoked bacon strip. These were good, but I didn’t see what the big deal was. I think maybe if they wrapped the dog in bacon it would have helped, also I didn’t taste the chili in it. The fries were good, however they were nothing special. Just properly fried standard crinkle fries. I also got a Bavarian Dog ($6). This is a ¼ lb grilled bratwurst topped with stone ground mustard and kraut on a steamed pretzel bun. I enjoyed this dog more. This dog with the others topping would have been a hit for me. They also have a large selection of Root Beers. The 2 I tried were CICERO Salted Caramel Root Beer and DANG! Butterscotch Root Beer. Both were unique and delicious.
The service was friendly and okay. However they got busy after I ordered and I felt forgotten. I needed another drink and I couldn’t order it till they brought my bill.
Overall a 3 1/2 star review, that I’ll round up to 4 stars. Would I return? Yes, with a caveat. I would need to already be in the area.

Nothing was bad. It was even good, good service, pleasant atmosphere, and good food. But the hot dogs are nothing special and not what they used to be. The problem is this establishment bills itself as “The Hot Dog Hall of Fame”. Therein lies the problem. One would expect a great hot dog and they are now, just OK. A one time great place is now just another place. The better dog (albeit a little more expensive) is at Dam Dogs. Well worth the price there.

I used to stop by here before it burned down. Not impressed. Soggy cold chili dog with sweet chili. People were waiting to get in and making reservations for low grade food. Sad.

If you’re over in the Grand Rapids/Rockford area, definitely go check out the Corner Bar, Rockford Michigan. I was there to take in their coney dog challenge, but my wife and daughter’s food was amazing too. My daughter who NEVER finishes her plates completely devoured her pulled pork pasta.
Super fun atmosphere and the staff was great. Also a HUGE selection of root beer and local beers on tap. We are from the greater Lansing area, but plan on definitely making the trip west again to try other amazing looking things on their menu.
