When we initially walked in, there was anything sign saying there was only seating in the bar area when there were people sitting in many other places. Last place for someone in recovery to want to sit, but we took our seat. I went to the restroom to find full garbage cans and TP everywhere and a not so tidy restroom l. I’ve been in downtown bars that had better bathrooms. Very under maintained and gross. 6 minutes on we got our salad and about a minute later was our appetizer. The Cesar salad was pretty standard
The appetizer we got was bland and had little to no flavor. The pizza, though, was to be expected and enjoyable. If you are a bar person and enjoy drinking and having some pizza, i would recommend it. This place, however, isn’t for me because I don’t drink and have little tolerance for the yelling table next to me in the bar area.
The service was just a their below my expectations due to the part of being told there was only seating in the bar area when there was plenty of people sitting elsewhere. However our food was out in total about 15 minutes after ordering and another 10 minutes to get our deserts. The brownie seemed good but the donut bites were trash. Hard as a rock. Like little sugary pebbles. Again if you like beer or booze this food might cut it. The bill however was 46.00 for everything.
Stood at the entrance for 8-10 Mins just for someone to come and ask how many and if we are dining in.
Next asked the server if he can also give us some crayons since they were kind enough to give us a kid’s menu, response “Don’t know need to see if we have any” why do you then have a kids menu which has things to colour??
Asked the server what are the beers on Tap which is crisp and fruity, he was like I don’t know, I don’t drink so you can choose between 3-4 names he gave. You open a taproom and your servers dont know your beer???
We been to this place multiple times and never been dissatisfied or disappointed, great service all the time no matter how much it’s crowded.
Try their mushroom starter and artichoke dip. Their pizzas are also great.
I do seriously miss my old Old Chicago – Apple Valley location, though. Damn COVID-19! It was a casualty of corona.
Service last night was a bit tough, they were short some staff, I think. The boneless, fried, chicken tenders were FANTASTIC, offered with multiple dipping sauces, served hot, crunchy, and real white breast chicken. Delicious with the multiple beers I had last night! Of course, 2,000 calories later, I’m paying for it today, haha.
Location in EP is great, right off the 494 freeway, and centrally located. Ambiance inside is inviting and comfortable. Not many people sitting in the restaurant side last night, most in the bar. LOTS of TV’s with lots of options to watch. Friendly and happy staff, though they were really moving last night. Good luck to the bartender who will have her baby sometime this spring! She’s been there every time I’ve visited this OC.
Great atmosphere to curl up and relax and have a few beers!
I waited over an hour for my food, when the restaurant wasn’t even full. When the food finally came out, everything was cold. My cheeseburger was cold, the bread was stale, and my chicken tenders were almost freezing in certain spots — not even crunchy, just soggy and barely cooked. It honestly felt like leftovers or food that had been sitting out way too long. Even the plate itself was cold to the touch. When I mentioned it to my server
I was told it “just came off the grill,” which was clearly not true. The servers were rude and standoffish, and when I asked for a manager, they refused to come talk to me and the server told me my meals are free and we can go. That level of customer service is unacceptable. To top it off, my family was the only people of color in the restaurant, and the way we were treated made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. This whole experience was beyond disappointing.
Between the freezing food, the attitude, and the lack of accountability, I will never come back here again. Do better, Old Chicago.
