On the waffle side, it’s most of the way there but a little overcooked. My partner and I had the waffle flight: Traditional chicken and waffle, sweet potato waffle with walnuts and marshmallow cream, chili on cornbread waffle, and Nutella on sweet cream waffle. All were tasty, but not blown away by the chili on cornbread waffle.
I was completely blown away with the customer service though! Super friendly, very inviting and a welcome addition to downtown Loveland. I can’t wait to come back and bring my kids, I know they will enjoy the waffles and atmosphere as much as I did.
I want to start by saying I really enjoy this place—the food, the staff, and the overall vibe are all fantastic. However, there are a couple of issues that prevent me from giving a full 5-star rating. Here’s a breakdown:
The Food: I absolutely love the creativity in their menu! I’ve tried a few dishes, and they’ve all been a hit:
1 Traditional Chicken & Waffles – The chicken is juicy, the syrup and butter are served warm, and the waffles are perfectly cooked.
2 Bananas Foster – Sweet and indulgent! It’s very rich, so if you have a sweet tooth like me, it’s a must-try—but I can only manage it in small doses.
3 Chicken & Waffles with Sausage Gravy – This is my favorite so far. It’s a savory twist on the classic, almost like “biscuits and gravy with chicken.” Delicious!
The Staff: The staff here is incredibly friendly. They’re quick to greet you, offer recommendations, and make sure you feel welcome. I sat at their counter/bar.
The Vibe: The space is awesome—open and inviting, with lots of seating options, including cozy lounge areas. It’s a great spot to hang out, and the shared space with 477 Distilling adds to the atmosphere.
Now, for the downsides:
1 Ordering Process: I sat at the counter and was told I needed to place my order at the register. It just felt a bit odd, especially since I was already seated at the counter, only a few feet from their register (and I was paying with cash). I didn’t mind getting up at (as awkward as it was), but when the POS system prompted me to leave a tip, I wasn’t sure what the tip was for, considering I wasn’t being served directly at my seat (at the counter). Typically, I reserve tips for table service or counter service, and the setup here felt a little disconnected from that expectation.
2 THIS IS A BIGGIE!! Trays vs. Plates: Here’s where the experience really falls short for me: they serve the food on cafeteria-style trays with a thin paper liner. While the food is priced like a premium dining experience, the tray feels out of place. The paper gets soggy with sauce, and it’s a hassle trying to eat without the paper tearing or sticking to your food. For the price you’re paying, I would expect a more polished presentation—plates, not trays. The whole thing just doesn’t match the level of quality I know they’re capable of.
Overall: I really enjoy the food and the atmosphere here, but I do hope they reconsider a couple of things: the ordering process (it would be great if orders could be taken at the counter while seated) and the tray setup (plates would definitely elevate the experience). If they make those adjustments, I’d gladly bump this review up to 5 stars!
However the chicken appeared to have been reheated in the deep fryer more than once. Even the inner meat was crunchy. Atmosphere was nice and service was only ok, there was one person making the “meals” and she was trying to handle a “full house”
They gave us a card for 15% off of our next visit. We left it on the table knowing we would not be back.
My husband ordered a chicken bacon ranch waffle wich and I ordered the egg, cheese and avocado. Even though there were probably only eight people in the restaurant, it took about 30 minutes to get our meal. While I was eating it I thought to myself “man is this boring and tasteless” but I ate half of the sandwich thinking it just wasn’t flavorful, but I realized it was missing The cheese and avocado, so it was just egg. I went back up to where you order and the woman helping me was more than happy to get it fixed. I told her all I needed was some slices of avocado and I would put it on myself. She offered multiple times to remake it, but I said it was OK. It took about another 20 minutes to receive that fixed half of sandwich and it’s still really wasn’t anything special. My husband loved his but I definitely don’t think I’ll be back. They gave me a 15% off coupon which was nice but I live 45 minutes away and probably won’t drive that far to give them a second chance, I’ll stick with tried and true
