Nutcracker Family Restaurant is one of those rare mom-and-pop gems that instantly make you feel like a local. Walking in feels like stepping back into the 1950s, with a Johnny Rockets style vibe, classic décor, and charming little details everywhere you look. There are pies, candies, and all sorts of fun knick-knacks lining the space which makes browsing almost as enjoyable as eating.
The breakfast was absolutely amazing. This is comfort food done right, clearly made with care and pride. What really stands out about the Nutcracker Family Restaurant is the atmosphere. It has that true small town feel, complete with friendly faces and the “minute-you-walk-in” regulars who make the place feel alive and welcoming.
If you love nostalgic diners, great breakfast, and places with genuine heart, Nutcracker is a must stop. It’s cozy, classic, and full of character. This is the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again. Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience for my family.

It’s worth the drive. The little gem is great for breakfast or dinner. They have the best comfort food and great milkshakes. They have hand-made chocolates and homemade pies for sale. Looking for nostalgic candies, they have those also. The staff is very nice. They are usually busy but the wait isn’t very long. They serve breakfast all day.

Such a cute atmosphere, nutcrackers everywhere + 50s vibe was super unique and welcoming. Good diner style food! Love a good classic breakfast and would go back to try their dinner menu 🙂

We were passing through and on a whim we drove 10 minutes off of I-70 to eat here. GREAT CHOICE! This is such a little treasure! The atmosphere is so fun, the staff was friendly and happy. 10/10 recommend it! We got chicken tenders and the fried perch, none of it tasted like “processed/restaurant food”, it was REAL food!

A very fun experience, a diamond in the rough. It was merely an accident that this place was found. We were driving by and happened to see someplace that was open.
This should not be an accidental find. Fun place good food and great service

This place is fantastic! It’s a nice little diner with a great atmosphere and really good food. A coworker of mine told me about it last week and said they have really good meatloaf. One of the people I was with got the meatloaf and said it was very good. I got the open face roast beef sandwich and I really enjoyed it.

Went here first time with my family and grandsons after a ball game. Food was great. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Had a good time. They also have a lot of nutcrackers for sale to add your Christmas collection.

We loved the classic diner feel. The nutcrackers were all different and unique. There’s areas we didn’t get pictures of, but the place was very unique. They also have sweets like buckeyes, covered pretzels and other chocolates. The food was delicious and the service was good as well.

We had dinner tonight and thoroughly enjoyed our meal & experience.
If you like vintage decor and the 50’s era, and/or if you have a thing for nutcrackers, this is the place for you to be.
I ordered the chicken parmigiana meal, which comes with a side. I opted to upgrade for an extra $1 and get the onion rings…I know…that’s an odd pick for a side with this entree. But it worked. The parm could have had a little more melted cheese, but it was tasty. The onion rings were great – just the right amount of batter and frying time.
My wife ordered the stacked meatloaf. We both agreed – it’s better than what you’ll get at Cap City Diner, which most know that restaurant is part of the renowned Cameron Mitchell chain. If you can fix an entree that’s better than CCD, that’s a feather in your cap.
Our server – Gracie – was incredible. SO friendly, polite, and engaging. She made great eye contact and had a bubbly personality with a non-stop smile. I handed my phone camera to her and she snapped a few pictures of us. Several minutes later, she swung by and asked if the photos were ok. I assured her they were. I think that may have been the first time a server has come back and followed up with us to make sure we liked the photos. We were so pleased with the addictive service we received from Gracie!
We look forward to returning!

Everything about this place is amazing. I was in awe of the decor, the family friendly welcome when you come in. And to top it all off, the food was heavenly. I got the livers and onions. Taste like my mother cooked it. Seasoned and tender mashed potatoes and fried corn cob. My son had chicken tenders and fries. Best coconut cream pie, and he had a strawberry shake. Do yourself a favor and go enjoy this beautiful diner.
