I did order the ginger spritz, I believe it was called and found it to be refreshing. Lastly, Rachel provided friendly and attentive service. I’m sure next I visit, I’ll be back. Highly recommend.
Lobster Roll – The lobster roll is absolutely delicious, the bread they use for the roll always reminds me of texas toast, so buttery and good. It’s a great lobster meat to bread ratio (by that I mean lots of lobster!!). The potato wedges that come on the side are usually made to perfection but the last time we went, they were a little underdone and not super crispy- hopefully just a one time thing!
Appetizers/Dessert – I’ve been here during happy hour and tried the raw oysters which were fresh and delicious as well as their calamari which is just as tasty. I’ve also tried the key lime pie for dessert once which was a classic and a great way to end the meal.
Come Again? Yes! This is a great seafood spot for a date night or a nice dinner. The staff is always really friendly and we always have a good time here!
in the middle of the table was another way to see the menu. The paper menu was so hard to read because the letters were super small, and I felt like I was grading someone’s homework. However, the food and service were good. I had a salmon, which was cooked to perfection. We also had the bourbon oysters and crispy calamari. The mango margarita and the bloody mojito were great! To end our supper, we had a three leches taramisu with coffee flavor. I recommend it 100%. It was about $178.00 for two people. The place looks clean and it is quiet. Parking space is limited, you cannpark on the streets and it is limited to two hours. It is kid friendly.
The seafood jambalaya was nice, and the portions very generous. The S’mores and the ice cream flight was plentiful and everyone really enjoyed them.

The service was okay. They came to refill our waters, and asked us if we were okay semi-regularly.

We came here one day after work and ordered lunch to go. The people who helped me were super nice and helpful in deciding what to order since it was our first time here.
The place was pretty busy for a weekday, and the ambiance definitely spoke volumes. It was chill, yet inviting, and it looked like it had some history.
We ordered:
1. Cheesy garlic bread with crab meat – We have never tried anything like this before, but I’m glad we did. It was amazing. It was cheesy and garlicky, but you can still taste the tender crab meat.
2. Double crunch popcorn shrimp – It is not your ordinary popcorn shrimp. It was super crunchy and was not overcooked. It’s definitely so flavorful that it didn’t need the sauce. The sauce, though, was different and tasty as well. Not it usual cocktail or tartar sauce here.
3. Tacos- We did a sampler where you can pick two tacos. We did the wild alaskan cod fried and grilled shrimp. The wild Alaskan was crunchy and so flaky. The shrimp taco- they did not skimp on the shrimp.
4. Lobster roll – When I first looked at it. I was like, man, it’s tiny. But it was a-mazing. I loved the bread it was on.
5. Surf & Turf burger – I’m not gonna lie, I was skeptical. Surf and turf always sound good but not all in one bite if that makes sense. But when I tried it… it was . My senses were awakened, and I was just on another level.
6. Sangria – I ordered this while I was waiting for my food. Thought it was a little pricey for the amount you get. It had way too much ice. He told me it was strong, but I’ve had better. I had another drink in mind, but I decided not to because the bartender had the mix book in hand, which meant to me that he’s not familiar with making the drink I wanted.
Overall, the food was amazing. All items were served piping hot and fresh. I definitely highly recommend this place and will be back soon to try other items.

Rustic House is truly a San Carlos and a Peninsual gem. I couldn’t believe how we had not checked this place out for 5 years living nearby. It is essentially a seafood joint cooked with down-to-earth comfort food style in a unique rustic industrial cannery / beach shack.
Every detail of the interior gives that old factory rustic feel which absolutely adds to your experience. It comes across modern yet homely. Familiar yet different. It will absolutely pass for a date night if need be.
The food is a bit on the pricey side but my god, the seafood is fresh. The oysters were delicious and the crab meat on a cheese toast was sublime. Yes… 6 pieces at $28. But I feel it is absolutely worth it. The pasta with scallop and pancetta was wonderful and other fries and drinks on point. The food can come across bland for some but it clearly shows off the freshness of the underlying ingredients.
With great service, Rustic House is an absolute must return. The overall experience is simply unmatched. I would’ve expected to have this feel perhaps somewhere in Monterey. Heck it’s done better in San Carlos.
I am definitely recommending this one 100 plus.❤️
