From the first bite of your burger to your last french fry, quality is the most important ingredient at In-N-Out Burger. Since opening in 1948, we’ve been doing fresh the old-fashioned way. Our burgers are grilled to order made with juicy 100% beef patties and freshly baked buns. We only use crisp, fresh produce, our fries are hand-cut from whole potatoes, and our shakes are made from real ice cream.

Classic burger chain serving customizable burgers, hand-cut fries & shakes.

I’d wanted to visit this av-geek-acclaimed In-N-Out location for ages. On a handy layover from London to Hawaii, I stopped by specifically to watch the jet planes very close up and have a delicious burger. Did both. This branch sits right under the LAX flight path, with planes coming in low and frequently, easy to see from the outdoor tables, the car park and the grass island over the road.

I ordered a Double-Double, Animal Style fries and the secret Neapolitan shake. Everything came out hot and fresh, with the order ready in minutes. The line turned over quickly, and despite how busy it was the staff were friendly and efficient throughout. The burger was really good, fries loaded and hot, and the shake thick and deliciously mixed.

I walked over from LAX in about 30 minutes, doable, but next time I would get a lift and spend more time with the Animal Style fries and enjoying the planes.

Look, I’m from Illinois. We know good food, and we definitely know our way around a fryer (Portillo’s, anyone?). I finally gave in to the West Coast hype and tried In-N-Out, and I have to say, I am genuinely confused.
Let’s start with the good: The burger was actually solid. Fresh ingredients, good bun, decent char. I get it. It’s a good burger for the price.
But the fries? Absolute trash. I don’t know what they do to them, but the texture is all wrong. They taste exactly like those stale, skinny potato shoe strings that used to come in the tin cans. You know the ones—dry, hollow, and like they’ve been sitting in a pantry since 1998. It’s like eating Styrofoam disguised as a vegetable.
If I wanted shelf-stable potato snacks, I’d go to the grocery store. Highly disappointed. You can keep the palm trees; I’ll stick to Midwest food where the fries actually taste like potatoes.

In-N-Out by LAX is a must if you’ve got time to kill. The staff are genuinely friendly and move fast without rushing you. Love that they cover the fries with a napkin to keep them warm, small detail, big difference.

And you can’t beat the location. Right by the runway threshold, so you’re eating a Double-Double while jets scream overhead. Burgers and plane spotting? Perfect combo.

This is my go-to when I fly in and out (pun intended) of the Los Angeles area! It’s close to the airport hotels and the line moves through super efficiently given the large amount of visitors at all times of the day!

Get a double double or cheese burger with grilled onions and some animal style fries with grilled onions. If the fries are too soggy for you, you can ask the fries to be “well done”!

We went all in with a protein-style double-double with grilled onions, another double-double loaded the classic way, and a timeless cheeseburger—plus a side of animal-style fries. Every bite was insanely good and totally lived up to the hype. The flavors were simple, fresh, and incredibly satisfying. It couldn’t have been a better choice for my very first meal in California, and it set the bar high right from the start.

One is not enough!! Its sooooo good

Expect long lines, especially at peak times. However, the staff is highly efficient and friendly, often moving the line faster than expected. The drive-thru is usually backed up, but the experience is worth the wait!

Overall Rating: 4.9/5 Stars. Unbeatable value and freshness in the fast-food category.

Whenever I go it’s always crowded but the energy is great. You may wait in line a bit and the hamburger definitely makes it worth it. Sitting at the outdoor tables is especially nice and watching huge planes fly right over you adds a unique vibe. In my opinion this is the best location of all.

Our final stop before getting on a long flight out of LAX. As you know, you can no longer expect ( any) food on the plane, so we needed a tasty filling meal.
In n Out to the rescue! Always dependable and affordable.
Bonus at this location :
You get to watch the planes landing on the north runways!

Never listen to anyone that says it’s overrated, until you’ve tasted it yourself because they are the best burgers you’ll find on the West Coast, hands down!!! Don’t forget to ask for onions….Fries are delicious too Omg the craving is real right now

This was my first time trying In-N-Out, as we were traveling from Chicago. I really liked everything — the food was fresh and tasty, and the experience was great overall. I’m glad I finally got to try it during our trip.
