Great experience at 843 Korean. The food was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. Our waitress, Christina, provided outstanding recommendations, service and was attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the meal. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

This was my first & last time going to this restaurant. I was excited to try the food…. But it was disgusting! The only really good thing there is the truffle fries (which were some of the best I’ve ever had). The Cali roll was decent enough but the entrees were unexcusable. The two entrees we got were teriyaki chicken & the sweet potato noodles with chicken. They both had the same taste. I don’t know what exactly that taste was but if I had to explain it to someone I would say “it was like they cooked it with burnt days old oil or some beetles fell into the mix & got cooked up with the meal. When I brought the situation to the waitor’s attention his response was “well would you like some white sauce?” No amount of sauce could cover up that taste though. He was not a good waiter at all… He wasn’t friendly, helpful, attentive, or accommodating …. All the traits a good server should possess & he was lacking in all areas. The friends and roll (which has a nice presentation as well) were actually good but not enough to sway my overall opinion nor my chances of ever returning here.

Every time I’ve eaten here I’ve never been disappointed. I’ve tried different things each time and it’s always so good! Christina is the best! Made my boy’s birthday even more special. Gimbap is his favorite. Sushi is great too! Go and enjoy one of the only authentic Korean food restaurants in the area!

Walking in we waited for a hostes to see us, but no one was coming after 5 mins. Walked further into the establishment and were told to wait for the hostess. Which them we were seated about 2 mins later. The food was very good. Thw server was on top of her game. The floors were sticky. The bathroom was clean.

Best Korean around! I live in Savannah, GA and my family (who are Korean) said we will travel the 2 hour drive when we are really craving some GREAT Korean food. The flavors were amazing! We did the all you can eat (upgraded option for $45) portions were great. Usually all you can eat places send out tiny portions that come few and far between but not here. They gave the same portions from start to finish and were quick about bringing more meat. Even for a busy Saturday night they were quick! Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful! Our server was great and kept apologizing for the bar taking a while. For a packed Saturday night and a huge party in the back they did amazing. Side note try the bulgoli fries!!!!!!

Overall I’d recommend this place but definitely plan to be there for 3 hours or more. We had a reservation at 6 and didnt leave until 9pm. I used to live in Korea and expected the evening to take some time as Korean bbq typically does but it lasted so long because the service, not the cooking of the food.

The service was very spotty. We waited 15 mins to order and then another 40 mins for our food after we ordered. When our server was at our table, she was excellent but we saw her very rarely and there was super long pauses before she’d check in with us again. I will say it was a Saturday night, it was busy, and she told us there were only 2 servers that night every time she did stop by our table. I felt bad for her. If she had more support, I think it would have been a better experience.

I also had to get up to find my own extra set of tongs so both sides of the table could cook their food. We sat for 20 mins without water several times. No shade their way but I do think they need to give their servers more support. They were doing their best but with as much money as we paid for the meal, you’d hope the service would be better. And had the service been better, I think we could have been out in 2 hours.

The food was great so that’s why the 4 stars. Very authentic and great portions. We ordered the gochujang pork belly , LA galbi, and bulgogi beef. The flavor on all were great but I’d only re-order the bulgogi beef. The pork belly was huge, took forever to cook, and was very chewy. We realized the heat wasn’t high enough but the server was no where to found to ask about turning it up. After further exploration of the table, we turned it up ourselves and then the pork belly cooked much faster. Initially it wasn’t getting crispy and it was hard to chew.

Our friends got the spicy chicken, bulgogi chicken, and shrimp. The spicy chicken and bulgogi chicken were great though they didn’t recommend the shrimp because they had to peel it themselves and it wasn’t ideal with the grill situation. All the banchan and appetizers were delicious. I couldn’t get enough of them but couldn’t order more banchan because of service.

I think I’ll go back in hopes that that was a one off night. I’ll updated if I end up going back!

Interesting experience! You have to cook your food.

Our waiter helped with advice how to cook it. Overall, he was great!

Sushi is amazing there too and sushi were half priced.

You have to pay $35 for each guest and if you order Korean BBQ, then everyone at that table has to purchase it so be aware.

Delicious! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was all very good. The sushi was very fresh and worth every penny.
The glass noodles appetizer that came with our premium AYKE option was a gem that everyone asked for more of!

I can’t wait to come back.

We sat at the sushi bar and had an amazing experience. Bartender was chatting with everyone and the Sushi chef had a great personality as well. Sushi rolls were tasty and the green tea cheesecake was on point! We have gone back several times since my original review and honestly they never disappoint. Sushi chef is amazing! The bar tender has a wonderful personality and always remembers us. I added photos of the fried mochi ice cream, a house roll and a custom roll made special for my fiance dubbed the redneck Riviera and the chefs special sushi to heaven!
