To anyone reading my review, please know that what you see in the previous reviews about long wait times, slow/poor service, and average to low-quality food is absolutely correct.
I was just here recently with my boyfriend.
We had a reservation at 6:00 PM, arrived before 6:00, and didn’t leave until close to 9:00 PM—not because we were enjoying ourselves, but simply due to a lack of service.
Our server took an extremely long time to take our order, and when the food finally arrived, it was incorrect. I’m honestly confused how someone orders mac and cheese and receives collard greens. My boyfriend’s order was also completely wrong. On top of that, we weren’t given utensils, so even after waiting all that time for food, we couldn’t eat it.
You spend more time waiting than anything else, and for what? My salmon was dry, like it had been cooked too long, and my potatoes were cold. How do you wait over 40 minutes for food and receive it cold?
To make matters worse, they automatically charge an 18% gratuity. A tip is supposed to reflect service, and based on our experience, that charge did not feel fair or deserved.
The whole place feels disorganized. I don’t know who owns this establishment, but the management is doing a very poor job. I will say the entertainment, idea, and overall concept are great—but the execution, especially on the restaurant side, is not there.
If you value your time, your money, and basic service, I strongly suggest going somewhere else. At the very least, think twice before spending your hard-earned money here.

The fried green tomatoes ($18) and drink (amaretto cutie pie $16) were delicious! I also ordered the grit bowl with catfish ($26) The menu did not include any description for the catfish and grits. I was unaware that the grits came with a Cajun gravy. Had I known that in advance, I would NOT have ordered that. Also, the fish did not taste like catfish! I had someone else taste the “catfish” and they immediately said “that’s not catfish”. Others at the table said it looks like tilapia and compared my “catfish” to someone else’s fried catfish at the table…… there was no comparison. Side note, I tasted my friend’s wings and they were really good.

I’ve got nothing but 10’s across the board for Rhoyal Bistro Live. Great food, ambiance, cocktails and food. I had the salmon. Skillet, Oysters, Bloody Mary, Blue Margarita, Red Beans and Rice and Brussle Sprouts. Everything was delicious. I’ll definitely be back soon.

The best thing about coming for brunch on Sunday was the gospel music, the decor and the water.
Service was extremely slow, food did not taste good and glasses/utensils were not cleaned well.
First, we arrived at 2:40pm the place had one other table of guests and a few people at the bar. We ordered our meal an hour later. The first time we ordered the waitress apparently didn’t actually take our order. So we had to order again. Also, we ordered chicken & waffles in the first order, but wasn’t made aware that they had run out of waffle batter. So 20 minutes later when we called the waitress back over, that is when she told us that they didn’t have waffle batter. My cousin then asked about the breakfast skillet and was told that it didn’t have eggs in it. We were a bit confused so we called a different waitress over and she clarified that eggs did indeed come with it and that it would come out as an omlete on top of potatoes. It did not come out as an omelet, it was 2 fried eggs over dry potatoes. The porkchop was dry and hard. The grilled catfish was salty and small. Very small portions for what they charge per dish. The jerk pasta was bitter tasting and just not good. We sent it back. The fact that they charge an automatic 18% gratuity when the service is so bad is appalling. It took 30 mins and me asking 6 times for me to get a cup of hot water for tea.
I would not come back for the food. But I might come for the live entertainment and ambiance.

The entertainment made the experience wonderful . I’m always looking to support but the food is overpriced and it was not good. I tried to eat it was not enjoyable at all. Very bland , the red beans and rice were dry and the Mac n cheese seemed like it was leftovers or just i got the bottom of the pan. The sangria flight was good but they charged $43 when the menu said $34 , when we asked her to fix the charge she said the price is actually $43 you just got the wrong menu . Eventually she took it to her manager to remove the charge . The picture is the plate after I tried to eat and my friend tried as well, however overall not good.

I set reservations for 1:00 pm , it was my dad’s birthday and I specified that in the reservation. We were sat down , our order was taken , and we received one appetizer to begin shortly after . We didn’t have enough utensils set , no plates to share, and we asked for lemons to go with the water at the beginning of service , we didn’t get any of it we had to ask for it all . After listening to my dad tell many stories and all the tables around us receiving their food ( even tables that were seated after us) the server comes back to our table and says what can I get started for you all . We all sat in confusing because we had already placed our order an hour and 15 mins ago so imagine our surprise when nothing else came out and now she’s asking what can she get started . We say our food that we ordered , she says I’m sorry I thought I took you alls order it’s just me and the bartender working but can I take it again I’m not sure what happen . At this point we’re very hungry and just told her what we ordered again . I was really trying to see if we should just leave as the place was just so off no music playing , half the lights were off , I believe it was one of the staff members walking around with a Nike Pooh shiesty mask in the restaurant he never sat at a table so I’m almost certain he was part of the establishment. I eventually went to the bartender and said I’m going to assume management isn’t here ? He said what’s wrong ? I said well I made a reservation, it’s my dads birthday, and we’ve been here over an hour and already had place our order and we’re just told we needed to order again . He said what are you drinking ? I said well let’s see what my dad is drinking since it’s his day , I get his drink order and that was that mind you we were a table of 3 being inconvenienced . Long story short we get our food about 30 mins later ( almost 2 hours later) . I will say the food was good for the most part , my dad did say his pork chop was cut too thin and tasted charred and his mashed potatoes had no seasoning but over all everything else we had was good . It was insane to still have been charged the 18% gratuity fee after that but I still paid it . Then to also see when ordering the buffalo wing appetizer I was charged an additional $2.00 to sauce the wings on top of the $18.00 charge . This place has great potential but management has to make major changes in staffing and customer service or this will continue to be a domino effect of complaints.

The food is definitely not worth the price. A soup bowl of calamari is $21!! Only to have 7 pieces of calamari in it…no! I made it there apparently around happy hour, my menu was never changed after it ended and ended up paying regular price for my drinks against my knowledge. There’s no way that I should have spent $99 on food by myself!! Oh! And there’s nothing on the site abut a mandatory 18 percent gratuity added to the Check! But there’s a mention of an “entertainment fee” if you just decide to come and enjoy the live music. And the service was super slow!! My chicken came out raw! While the cook came out and fixed it, I had to argue with my server to take it off the check because the cook voluntarily remade it. While the food tastes good, the portions, price and quality of service just don’t equal out! I won’t spend my money outside of maybe one drink here ever again.

I went with my niece & her best friend & mom. The waitress were on point & very polite so was the front door hostess. My niece & I ordered baked jerk chicken. It was so very hot we couldn’t eat it at all. We both got choked on it & she is way younger than I am. The other 2 ppl said their food was pretty good. The lamb chops were so small look like strips of bacon. I really wanted to like this restaurant but the food was just ok

The food was pretty good. The lamb chop was a bit over; some people like it that way, I pefer medium, but it was still very flavorful. The crab cake was good as well. I thought the price was too much for rice compared to the portion size, I felt like it should have been enough for 2. I was disappointed that the band was not there on a Friday night. The drinks were on point, very good. Overall, they’re a bit expensive for the portions, but very tasty. I would go again, but maybe not casual dining.
