My family and I recently visited the Southern Fire Kitchen Fayetteville location. I’m not sure why this location isn’t listed on Google, but this review is specifically about the Fayetteville restaurant.
To start, the interior and décor are beautiful and very inviting. However, when we were first seated in our booth, I noticed quite a few crumbs on the seat. The manager, Shay, kindly moved us to another booth, but unfortunately that one also had crumbs. She promptly wiped it down for us, which we appreciated.
Our server, Dawn, was knowledgeable about the menu, but she was not very polite. The issue began when we asked about the lemonade. My mom prefers freshly squeezed lemonade, so we specifically asked whether it was fresh. Dawn told us it was made fresh daily so we both ordered lemonade. I ordered the spiked lemonade
When the drinks arrived, it was immediately clear from the color that it was not freshly squeezed lemonade. My mom avoids artificial dyes because they give her headaches, which is why we made sure to confirm beforehand. Dawn was not apologetic or sympathetic about the misunderstanding. My mom remained very polite and even apologized, but I felt it was important to point out that we had been given incorrect information. While I was calmly expressing that concern, Dawn walked away mid-sentence, which felt dismissive and unprofessional. Her attitude made me uncomfortable, to the point where I considered leaving.
Thankfully, the manager, Shay, noticed the situation and stepped in to serve us for the remainder of our visit. Shay was excellent — professional, attentive, and very pleasant. She made sure we were fully accommodated and reassured me that our food would not be handled by the previous server.
The food itself was very good, and Shay’s professionalism truly turned the experience around. I would return because of the quality of the food and the excellent customer service provided by the manager.
Gratuity is included in the bill but still not the reason to treat a customer poorly. I tip on top of gratuity DO BETTER DAWN

Southern Fire Kitchen gets a 10,000/10 across the board.
The atmosphere was on point — we arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation and were seated immediately… NO WAIT
The music was perfect, the bathrooms were clean (yes, that matters ), and the food came out in under 15 minutes — EVERYTHING fresh and hot
Now let’s talk food… the mac & cheese?? Some of the best I’ve ever tasted.
The collard greens tasted like somebody’s great-great auntie with the BIG arms was in the back stirring the pot with love — 1,000,000/10, no games played.
And the cocktails… whew let’s just say I’m still leaning — NO skimping on the alcohol, okkkkkk!
Overall: great vibes, fast service, amazing food, and strong drinks. Run, don’t walk.

Parking: It’s hard to find parking after 4pm. I decided to park behind the building at Kohls and walk to the location. It’s not far.
The restaurant doesn’t open until 4.
Good luck finding parking.
Service: We were seated right away. The host and waitress were excellent and polite.
Atmosphere: This is not a place for children. I brought my grandbabies here for their birthday. It was my fault for not looking at the reviews.
It’s more for adults.
It’s laid-back vibe. Good spot for couples or friends.
This was my 1st time here. I will be back.

Really enjoyed the service, and the atmosphere was very nice. The manager was super friendly, The salmon bites were the best overall and the Georgia on my mind drink was tasty. I got the turkey chops they were tender and well seasoned. The corn bread was nice and warm. The Mac and cheese was good. The yams and peach cobbler were good but did have a little too much cinnamon.

The venue, service, food, drinks and atmosphere were all 10/10! I’ve heard great things about this place and I can say all of the rumors are indeed true! The food came out super fast and was absolutely delicious! The drinks were mixed to perfection! The bathrooms were incredibly clean-you could smell the fresh cleaning products right away. China was our waitress and she was phenomenal! She was attentive, personable, informative and patient. I will definitely be returning in the near future!

This was our first time trying Southern Fire and if it had not been for Neesy, Tyler, and fresh food the score would have been lower. Although Neesy and Tyler were NOT our waiters they were very helpful when our waitress was no where to be found. We waited for some time before Neesy asked had we been helped at all yet and she went to grab Vicky who was our waitress. We were ready to order drinks, appetizers, and our meal all at once. We ordered water with a side of lemons and a blueberry lemonade, buffalo shrimp (appetizer), 4 piece wings (appetizer), lamb chop dinner, hot chicken sandwich with fries and a side of cornbread as our main dishes. We got our appetizer before getting our drinks and we did not see Vicky that we had to ask Neesy while she was up front helping walk in customers for our drinks that we watched Neesy prepare for and then Vicky just brought out when she finally appeared. She never came back to refill our waters and we didn’t see Vicky until it was time for us to pay. Tyler brought our food out and brought our to go containers. Lamb chops was definitely a highlight of the meal everything else was good. Before Vicky came to bring our bill we were waiting long enough for us to ask Neesy to get us change for $100 that she had to get from Tyler. We had our food packed up and change and time to let our food digest before Vicky grabbed our plates and brought our tab. Had it not been for gratuity, Vicky wouldn’t have received an 18% tip from me because quite frankly she did NOT earn it. Maybe Vicky does not work hard for her tips because she knows she gets gratuity which is unfair to paying customers and servers who actually provide quality service. So on top of a tip Vicky did not deserve I tipped the people who actually did. Shay (manager) thank you for hearing me out and trying to resolve the issue although we do not live close. Neesy and Tyler thank you for your service and your positive attitude and if we ever come back we will request you first if you are working!

Lord, have mercy on my soul!!!! Why did I stumble upon this place while visiting family in Atlanta. Southern Fire is absolutely incredible. The food was the best soul food I have had in over 20 years. I don’t know who they have in the kitchen, but OMG, chef’s kiss! I ordered food to go because the place was so packed. There was a 35-minute wait. I ordered 2 smothered turkey wing dinners (sorry, my mom just started to chow down before I could snap a good pic) with candied yams, collard greens, and a side of mac & cheese. Also, ordered the fried catfish dinner with collars and mac. For dessert, we got the peach cobbler, red velvet cake, and pound cake. Yes, we’re eaters. The food was so well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The desserts were also delicious. The red velvet cake, absolutely superb, the peach cobbler, perfect peach to crust ratio. My least favorite was the pound cake (wouldn’t order that again). The food was just like my granny used to make. The kind so good you have to kick off your shoes and wiggle your toes while eating. I have been telling everyone I can about this place. It is a real gem. Next time, I will dine in because the vibe looks incredible, and the decor is beautiful. Wishing Southern Fire many, many, many years of success. It’s well deserved. And just know I will be back.
