Have not been here since I moved away, but while in town for work, brought some colleagues in for dinner and everyone enjoyed their meal.
It was later in the evening but the food was still hot and fresh and the staff friendly.

We stopped into the Palmetto Pig on our day in Columbia. The restaurant is right down town. It is a buffet. All the food we ate was delicious. There was fried chicken and pulled pork for the meats. They had green beans, Mac n cheese, potato salad, Cole slaw, and baked beans. The hush puppies were amazing.

First time here and I will definitely be back. All the food I tried on the buffet was delicious. I didn’t try the fried chicken because I was too full! Buffet is a little more limited than some other places but it had enough variety to please almost anyone. I loved the hush puppies with a touch of sweetness. I also appreciated they had fried pork skins.

This a great buffet if you want some good southern food. It’s a small buffet with a couple of choices like fried chicken, pulled pork, Mac and Chesse, coleslaw and banana pudding. The price is good it was $16 per person included a drink. The fried chicken was my favorite all the sides were incredible. But for me the Mac and Chesse was my top pick for that sides. The dinning area was clean. I will be coming back when I’m craving some good southern food.

Just like it was when I was back in school! The buffet was great, and my wife LOVED the fried chicken and the banana pudding! It’s a must-hit place in Columbia for South Carolina BBQ!

I’m from Texas and travel for work, so I try BBQ everywhere I travel to. I’m sorry to say it, but this is not a BBQ joint. The only thing they had that even resembled BBQ was dry pulled pork and sauce. The chicken was over fried, and the sides were nothing to write home about. I spent $100 to feed four people and the best part of the meal was the banana pudding. I will say that the little old ladies running the place were very sweet and very helpful, but most of what I bought went straight into the trash.

This place has been opened for 23 year’s. The food is good, but nothing stands out. Limited amount on the buffet bar. Tables needed cleaning and staff was sitting down. Staff trays to be invisible. Fried chicken was okay. $18 for this buffet with just a few choices is a bit much.

Ordered takeout yesterday evening around 6pm and the staff refused to cook more chicken. Instead served us the last of dried macaroni & fried chicken. Charged extra for white rice on two take out plates. We normally order take out from here at least twice a month and drive from northeast to get it. The food and service just didn’t meet the mark yesterday. My family and I were very disappointed.

Amazing!!! Can’t believe it took me so long to visit. Plus it’s much closer than the counterpart. Workers are friendly. Food was always stocked and hot! Hash was a little runny but flavor was on point. Bbq meat was fabulous. Fried chicken was fresh.
They even have banana pudding for dessert.
Can’t wait to go back.

Shoutout to Palmetto Pig, the food was amazing and they are extremely nice! They even brought me out a sweet tea when I was outside and this was about 2 hours after I already ate there, that only shows what kind of place this is. Support business like this and try it out. Thanks Palmetto Pig I will be returning in the future!
