I ordered its Friday dinner special – all you can eat fried catfish ($22), and they brought me three super small pieces… I did ask for second, then they gave me a few more small pieces. Before I could finish my fried fish and possibly ask for more, they were already asking me if I’d like some boxes and bringing me the check…
The fried mushrooms came out hot, but the coating was not at all crunchy.
The $5 fried green tomatoes were pathetically thinly sliced, and I only received 4 small slices …. You should really check out TMG Burger Grill’s fried green tomatoes – the best crunch, value, flavor, and size!!
The portion size for green beans was tiny and the taste was rather bland.
Service was very friendly, but too many of them standing right next to the table, and I still had some hard time to get their attention. In any case, the service was not the main issue. I would not be back, because I could easily get more and better food elsewhere.
gelatin mixed gravy that i could taste some french onion soup powder in. And the cajun fries, well let’s just say they need to swap out the oil…
great service!!! There is no reason that burger couldn’t have been drilling with moisture as it was pretty big.
This was, without exaggeration, the worst dining experience I’ve ever had — and I’ve eaten at Dick’s Last Resort, where being rude is literally the theme. This place managed to be worse without even trying.
Let’s start with the food.
Let’s be very clear: I was served moldy onions witg my burger. Not “questionable.” Not “slightly off.” Mold. When I pointed it out and stated I would be including it in my review, the waiter immediately told us not to include his name — even though he never gave it to us.
The receipt says Zachary M.
If you’re confident in your service, you don’t panic about being named.
Inside the same burger was a wilted, green, chewy mystery item that had no business being there. The entire meal was served cold. Not warm. Cold. Every single meal at our table was cold. All six plates. Not lukewarm. Not “sat under a lamp too long.” Cold. Burgers. Chicken fried steaks. Mac and cheese. Chicken tenders. Everything.
The chicken fried steak came drowning in gravy that tasted like flavorless paste. We ordered two CFS and were told they didn’t have steak knives — at a restaurant serving steak. We were expected to cut it with butter knives. That alone should tell you everything you need to know.
My daughter’s chicken tenders? One was almost entirely fried breading. Just hollow crust.
Now let’s talk about the service, because they have the audacity to automatically charge us 20% gratuity for being a party of six (4 adults, 2 kids).
The table was dirty when we sat down.
My child found a dirty steak knife on the floor.
Customers had to physically move tables so we could fit — not a single employee offered to help.
No one mentioned the live music.
No one mentioned the playground.
No one checked on our food (which is convenient, because we absolutely would have told them it was cold and inedible).
I had to ask multiple times for my drink.
When I asked again while drinks were being delivered, a girl with black hair and dark lipstick — wearing what looked like a host shirt — snapped at me that it was coming.
When we were ready to leave, we held the check in the air for five full minutes. The waiter made eye contact, served the table behind us, and ignored us until my husband stood up to force interaction.
If you’re going to enforce mandatory gratuity, at minimum provide basic service: refill drinks, clear tables, check on food, don’t serve mold.
I genuinely question how this place has 4.5 stars. Either standards are underground, or the reviews are inflated — because there is absolutely no universe where this experience qualifies as good.
And before Denise, the owner, jumps into the comments to get defensive like she has on other reviews — the solution isn’t arguing with customers. It’s fixing sanitation issues, retraining staff, and earning the tip you’re automatically taking. Fix the sanitation issues, train your staff, and stop hiding behind automatic tips.
We will never return. We will actively tell people not to go.
If you’re looking to escape the everyday stress, this is a perfect place to reset. Now let’s talk about the food—because wow. It looked just as good as it tasted. When we first pulled up, I’ll admit I was wondering where my brother had decided to take us for dinner. But the moment we stepped inside and saw the buzz of food being served, people laughing, enjoying their meals and each other’s company, it instantly felt like the right choice.
Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for good comfort food and a friendly, laid-back vibe. We’ll definitely be back!
