The food is always amazing, the friendliest staff in ANY restuarant I’ve eaten in around Knoxville! It’s always clean. The bathrooms don’t smell like a urinal. This is ALWAYS my go to spot. I could never say enough nice things about this restuarant I’ve been going to for over a decade! Keep it up guys and gals. You’re doing amazing and have a lifelong customer here!

I recently first tried Monterrey Mexican Restaurant after years of living in Knoxville. The plates are very well served , the food
Was delicious, and I haven’t had better food in any other Mexican Restaurant. I enjoyed the friendly and smiley service of the restaurant . It’s a pleasant place to be with the family . I recommend it to anyone living or visiting the area.

Food was great and shockingly affordable! Like 3 people ate for under 40 bucks!

Would recommend… they have ample parking and a good size dining room

Not sure why this place is so busy. Service was good, prices average and food quality was average/below average. One thing that I did like is that they did not skimp on the meat, which most places do. Unfortunately, most of the food was a big let down. The refried beans and rice had almost zero flavor. Had the fajitas and vegetables were not fully cooked, meat dry, pico and other toppings flavorless. There are many better options out there

Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Knoxville!

I’ve been going here for years…now decades. They refresh the menu and have recently done some remodeling. Great work!

I see their staff out and about in the grocery store, gym, and neighborhood. They represent the best of our local community!

I loved Monterrey Mexican restaurant. It’s our second Mexican restaurant we’ve tried since moving to Knoxville. The first one was a little bit of a letdown, so it was great to find one we both immediately loved.

Our waiter, while I sadly can’t remember her name, was amazing. She was very on point and very attentive to our table. Outstanding service.

As for the food, it was delicious! Portion sizes for the price range are a great deal. I got the burritos Verde, which came with pork in it. You can change the meat inside for an extra $2 add-on price, but I didn’t at this time. The beans were delicious, and the rice was great. The burritos themselves were delicious, and the grilled onions and peppers really made the dish!

My strawberry margarita was also very well made. It was well balanced between being sweet and strawberry to tequila ratio.

My Fiancé said the Enchiladas were outstanding. Grilled veggies in her Enchiladas really elevated the taste of the shredded chicken and Ranchero sauce.

We definitely plan on coming back again soon. If you’re passing by or looking for a new restaurant, I’d highly recommend this amazing family owned restaurant.

Sticky floor, sticky table, sticky menu and some of the worst food I’ve ever experienced. Service was good and friendly, but those of you handing out four and five stars need to get out more. Cheap doesn’t override gross.

When I asked my hotel front desk, she recommended this Mexican restaurant which is few yards away. Location is good and parking is available.

Food was authentic Mexican taste with right aroma and spices.

Had Steak & Shrimp. It was nicely cooked.

Have a small bar with Mexican drinks.

I think it is popular among neighborhood.

Value for money and nice place for quick grab as well

Nice little restaurant, seemed like if you weren’t a “regular” you got treated a little different. Food was good, drinks where great, service could of been better, We only went here because El Chico was closed.

When it is busy, parking gets a bit scarce, but the service is wonderful, food is brought quickly after ordering and drinks are refilled without needing to ask! We were seated quickly and the atmosphere was nice/not loud.
